Vehicle Detail

1987 Buick Regal Turbo-T You are viewing a 1987 Buick Turbo T. This car is very similar to the Buick Grand National, but is lighter and faster. GM built the Turbo-T (1987) and the T-Type (1984-86) Regals to help avoid the new vehicle Gas Guzzler Tax . The Turbo-T, T-Types and WE4 Turbo Regals are lighter and have the exact same drive-train as the Grand National (3.8 Liter Turbo). Good news is that GM added aluminum bumper supports (to replace the Grand National cast iron supports) and they also replaced the factory steel rear drums with aluminum pieces. This helped reduce weight and GM avoided having the Gas Guzzler Tax added to the cost of the vehicle. Back to my Turbo T that is being auction in is listing. The body has been repainted white (by the previous owner) and it looks great. There is very little rust on the rear lower panels (see pics). The front bumper fillers have cracked over time. And the AC has been removed. Overall, the vehicle is very straight. T-tops and medium tinted windows really look sweet. These pictures don’t do this car justice; you must see it in person to get the full effect. The engine was rebuilt and balanced in 2006, by Mike at G & M Automotive Center in St. Louis. Trust me, Mike knows turbo Buick engines! I have a copy of the invoice and will be included with the paper work. Also, the TE61mm Turbo (bought at Limit Engineering – Arizona in 2005) was rebuilt at Precision Turbo (located in Indiana) at the time of the engine rebuild. This is my 3rd Turbo Regal. I pretty much know these cars in and out. I purchased this car to retire my 19K miles Grand National from track duty in 2004. I have done tasteful modifications to get this car into the 11’s and I have kept it a daily driver as well (see list of mods below). I am currently running 24 lbs. of boost in street trim (Alky injection kit). This car is a real head turner and it sounds awesome. We have gone through a lot together and I hate to let my baby go. I will regret the sell, but I need the garage space (and money) for other projects. Plus, I still have the Grand National project in the works. So my loss is your gain.
