Vehicle Detail
!!!! NO RESERVE !!!! Up for auction is this nice looking 1970 Ford LTD Country Squire. It has the original 429 engine and 3speed automatic. I have owned the vehicle for 6 years. The car was garage kept most of it's life (up until 2006). I bought the vehicle from a retired Air Force mechanic who babied this car and owned it since 1971. I used the car as a daily driver for two years and then on occasional camping trips and cruising the town. The timing chain was replaced 2 years ago and has not been driven much since. The car has been sitting now for a year. It needs TLC, which unfortunately I cannot give. It has a couple of rust problem areas but overall is in great condition. The worst rust issue is on the fender, where the hood meets(please see photos). There is a few spots here and there where there are little bubbles under the paint(probably minor rust). I have taken photos of them all. Undercarriage is solid and rust free. Engine was running fine. I tried to start her up but it needs either a battery or a starter. AC works fine. Will need new valve cover gaskets, current ones leak a little. Interior is in great shape, just needs to be cleaned. No rips or tears. This vehicle has the 10 passenger seat configuration. The rear swing door window is power but the four door windows are crank. This car gets a lot of attention when on the road. It looks pretty mean with the MAG wheels. The previous owner removed the wood paneling on the side and painted it the same color as the car. The white paint on the side trim(old wood trim) is chipping off and needs to be redone. The quality of the avocado green paint used is excellent. MILEAGE: The odometer works fine but is exempt. In the 6 years I owned it, I put about 20,000 miles on her. The previous owner told me that he used it as a daily driver and put about 200,000 miles on it and had not been in any major accidents. Engine has good compression. If you have any questions or specific photo requests, please do not hesitate to ask. It hurts me to have to sell her but she deserves better than just sitting around.
