1999 Ford Escort ZX2 "cool" model with dual cam 4-cyl engine and 5-speed trans. Here is what happened: When pulling in to a wal-mart parking lot during a heavy rainstorm (thanks el-nino) the engine sucked in water and died and would not crank over again. Upon pulling off the oil pan I found a broken connecting rod. So, the bottom end of the engine needs to be replaced (a shortblock). The car ran and drove wonderfully and everything worked before this. All of the pictures were taken on May 16th 2010. The transmission shifts quietly and smoothly, the tires are in good condition, the registration is good til march 2011, and there are no cracks in any glass. There are some cigarette burns on the seats and the carpet is dirty, but no rips or tears. The car has a salvage title because of the scrape/dent on the passenger side. Look at the pictures, it begins at the passenger side fender and goes accross the passenger side door. It has not been touched up and looks exactly like it does in the pictures.
