Vehicle Detail
This motorcycle is in good condition after a complete mechanical rebuild about 7,000 miles ago. I bought it with a bad rod bearing in 1997 with about 89,000 miles on it. The engine, heads, carbs, brakes, clutch, front forks and head bearings were all rebuilt. The fairings are solid with no apparent cracking, though the paint is cracking in a couple of places. The previous owner had repainted it red and black, apparently in an attempt to look like a new VFR. Wanting to get it back on the road, I had it repainted a solid color rather than trying to find someone to duplicate the original Honda livery. I rode it across the Sierras and up and down the Pacific coast with no problems until I decided to buy a new bike. It has been ridden very little since then, but it still runs strong and is very fast. I kept it with the idea that I would take it back to original, but too many projects and not enough time or space. It would be a good daily rider or base for a real restoration. Expandable magnetic tank bag and shop manual included. Pros and cons are as follows: Pros: low miles on rebuild; race shop rebuilt heads, rods and crank; rebuilt forks; new head bearings; many additional new parts including windscreen and seat cover; increasingly rare bike; great performer and a lot of fun to ride Cons: high overall mileage, small fluid leak around clutch cylinder, non-original paint Sale is "As Is"/No Warranty
