This is a restored and upgraded VW Rabbit Deluxe Diesel Pickup. This vehicle has new paint, and many new parts, including a 1.6 Jetta turbodiesel engine imported from Germany with 60,000 original miles, replacing the original normally-aspirated 1.5 diesel. It has a 5-speed Jetta manual transmission, new radiator, new suspension, A/C with new condenser, evaporator, receiver/dryer and new compressor. There is installed a nearly-new set of tires and upgraded VW rims. It has power steering from a 1986 Scirocco. The engine accessories, including the fuel pump, alternator, injectors, lines, turbocharger, etc., are all freshly overhauled. Everything works on this vehicle, including the clock, radio,(after market radio), all lights and lamps, horn, and so forth. The interior is original, and is in great condition with no rips or tears, and the dash, although covered, is still original ind in great condition as well. However, the interior is 29 years old. Considering the age, it has survived magnificently. With power steering, this truck rides and drives beautifully, and the upgraded transmission allows you to really take advantage of the upgraded power and performance.I live in the mountains, and the power is really appreciated going up steep mountain passes. It has a straight pipe exhaust system, and is very quiet and powerful. She starts right up instantly. The new paint is nice, and even the bed looks good, although there are some minor dings in the bottom of the bed that have been painted over, so that area is not like new, but this does not detract from the overall appearance at all. With new graphics, this truck really stands out, and will make the new owner very happy! Also included is a fiberglass camper shell in good condition (although not painted to the exact same color as the truck, but it is white). AND as an added bonus, if the new owner wants it, there are some major components to install a veggie oil kit, uninstalled. Please note that the odometer has 134,000 miles on it, but the engine is only 60,000 miles. However, both engine and chassis have had major upgrades and improvements. email with any questions. Also, the inside end caps on the rear bumper are missing. The outside ones are there. I am still trying to locate the inner caps, but so far, no luck.
