For sale is a used 1992 Honda Prelude S with a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Engine and Transmission swap; a great candidate for a rebuild or engine swap. The body has approximately 205,000 miles on it but the engine and transmission has anywhere from 30,000 - 60,000 miles on it (probably on the low end of 30,000 from what I was told by my mechanic when installed). These two components alone are valued at over $1,500. This car was purchased as a project car and has had the following new items installed: Exhaust (new) JDM Engine (H23A twin-cam) JDM Transmission Radiator (new) Front motor mount (new) Front balanacer shaft pulley (new) Alternator Battery Wire Harness Windshield wipers COSMETIC: The car is in very good shape considering its age; reserve is set at $1,000. The exterior has some dings and a little spot of rust on the hood and the moon roof. It also has some significant dents on the right rear wheel panel. It has Altezza (European) lights installed as well. UNDER THE HOOD: The car handles very well and is in excellent condition save for one issue: THE ENGINE IS CURRENTLY KNOCKING. What this probably means is that a rod has come off due to the car burning oil (a typical issue with Honda engines). The moon-roof also does not currently come open and the idle sensor should be checked (had a slight revving problem in idle prior to the engine issues). Accordingly, some work will have to go into the car for it to be up and running again. I also suggest a possible swap of the ECU or computers for the engine and transmission (very simple job) as well as a hard look at the oil pump (reason for the engine knocking). However, once the work is done, you essentially have a car with incredibly low wear and tear. I have documentation to support the work that was done by a local mechanic in the Lancaster area. SUMMARY: The car is in great shape and is an excellent candidate for a little work and a huge pay-out to the new owner. This car is worth well over $5,000 with all of the work that was placed into it and is truly a steal at this price. The car is currently inspected and I also have a clean title in hand. It recently had all of its fluids checked and replaced and the tires are in great shape and is in perfect alignment. THE CAR WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED AWAY. The reason for the sale is that I will begin school soon and do not have the time to make the necessary repairs hence, my decision to sell and replace it with a running car a.s.a.p.
