LOW RESERVE!!!Up for auction is a 1956 Chevrolet Belair 2dr Hardtop. This was a Southern car its entire life, up until a month ago. It comes with a clear Virginia title. It has a late 60s 327, with fuelie heads, 3/4 cam, alum high rise, and a new Edelbrock carb. It has new, professionally installed dual 2.5" aluminized exhaust, with Flowmaster type mufflers. And, when I say "Professionally installed", it is done real nice! The entire exhaust is neatly tucked up along the frame. None of it hangs below the frame rails. The motor sounds and runs REAL SWEET! Mechanically, the car seems to be in very good condition. It has a Muncie 4 speed trans. The clutch works as it should. It has all NEW brake and fuel lines, front to back. The brakes are good and the car stops fine. The steering and suspension also is good. The car rides nice. It needs a wiper motor and the heater controls need to be installed. The wheels and tires are also pretty new. It has 255/70R15s on the rear and 235/70R15s on the front. The car looks great in the pictures! But, the pics do not do the car justice...it is not nearly as nice in person. LOL The paint job is poor. It looks good from 25ft, but up close, you can see the imperfections. The body, overall, is pretty straight and solid. There is some bondo here and there, but not much. The floors are original, and have some spots rusted through. But, they are strong enough to last for awhile. The braces and supports are also original and pretty solid, with a few weak spots. The trunk floor is soild, except for both sides of the tailpan. Also over the left inner wheel. The trunk lid has the worst rot on the car, along the lower inside lip (pictured). But, I have another trunk lid for it. The chrome, like the paint, looks good in the pics, but is driver quality at best. There isn't much to the interior, except for carpet and 2 bucket seats. There is no back seat, door panels, or headliner. I have most of the inside trim pieces, and the headliner bows are in place. Both the door glasses and wing glass are cracked. Overall, the car is a Nice Driver! It is a perfect car to drive as you restore it. 56' BELAIR 2 door hardtops are getting harder and harder to find! This car is being sold 'As Is, Where Is."
