Vehicle Detail

(Relisted with lower reserve and Buy it now) 1974 Charger Rallye 440 Magnum, 1 of 213 made. Same owner since 1986. This is a semi-rare, original U-code 74 Rallye. It is presented in the photos in the configuration that it came from originally from the factory other than it has been converted from column shift to slapstick floor shifter. This was done with all original and correct parts. This car came from eastern Washington where it is very dry and it has never been a rust bucket. It has never been wrecked. There are a couple of small patches and limited body filler. The car has been repainted once in the original Y5 Yellow Blaze with the factory performance hood paint option detailed down to the last original imperfection and 3M reproduction graphics applied. Paint is about 9 years old, single stage Centuri Dupont enamel. Knowledgeable people will note that the hood has air vents like a 73 hood where most 74s has no vents. This is the original hood to the car - it still has the original 74 emission decal on it. 71 440 block, basically a stock 71 specification build with all factory equipment, manifolds, and Themoquad carb. It has a 727 Torqueflight, 8-3/4 Axle with the original 3.23 single gears. Motor and trans are not numbers matching. Many of the accessories are original, such as the 28" radiator, distributor, etc. Engine has approximately 12,500 miles on it. 906 heads were freshened less than 200 miles ago. Trans was removed and gone through about the same time. Wheels are factory Mopar original 15x7 with factory rings and caps. Being original factory pieces, they have some imperfections. Brakes and seals are good and tires have less than 500 miles on them (275/6015 and 245/60/15 BF Goodrich). The car has been assembled with many NOS parts. One of the original factory polyglass tires still serves as the spare. Due to other activities, this car has basically been sitting in storage for 10 years. Every Spring I take off the car cover, roll it out of the shop, clean it up, drive it a few hundred miles or so, refill the tank, change the oil, and put it away. It went on it's first drive of the year last weekend after being parked for 8 months. Because it has been sitting for awhile, it needs some attention. While it is a very nice looking car, the following items should be mentioned: The clock recently quit, the AM/FM which was missing in 87 and replacement retrieved from a parts car has never worked, an exhaust doughnut is leaking, carb has a hesitation, trans is not down shifting right. The trans was just out of the car a couple hundred miles ago and freshened by a shop. It works fine if you manually shift it. It is an old car, so it has some other imperfections - it is a clean, nice looking , solid driver with no major hidden problems - it is not not a rotisserie restoration trailer queen. I don't have time for this car anymore and I have realized it needs someone to drive it and take care of it. With some tinkering, it will be a very enjoyable car. It draws plenty of attention when driven, and is rare enough to be of interest. Please call (Mike 206-870-6247) or email me with questions. It's also available to view, and I encourage it. I will work with you to deliver to a shipper on my end, if needed. NO TRADES. RESERVE WILL NOT BE DIVULGED, HOWEVER IT IS SET REASONABLY. Please, if you are not interested in buying the car, don't bother me with chit chat, "expert" opinions, and questions. On Apr-29-10 at 20:57:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Added Info: 1) I have the original heat riser shield for the exhaust manifold, blasted and painted with VHT coating that goes with the car. 2) I pulled out the trans receipt which included amongst other things R&R, new govenor, and new valve body for $739.62 circa 2007. 3) I'm including an extra rebuildable Thermoquad carb and original 1974 120mph Rallye Gauge Pack.
