This is a 200D (not 240D), the most economical and the cheapest of the W123 series diesels. They were never imported and are pretty rare in the US. (The VIN# WDB12312010335567 comes up incorrectly on E-Bay because I imported it. Also, the mileage of 385413 as listed is actually kilometers). This was my daily driver in Europe, and drove it from the Balkans through the Chunnel to the UK, where I shipped it here because I liked it so much. It has Euro headlamps, bumpers, etc. It had a professional re-paint and front seats recovered. Some dash cracks, as usual. It fires right up, and runs well. A parking lot accident damaged the passenger side doors, as you can see from the pictures, but the center pillar is okay. It needs an exhaust system repair and alignment. It burns some oil. There are brand new front springs, lower bushings, and 4 new Bilstein shocks. This would be a good restoration candidate for a collector. If you’re used to the low tractor rumble of a 300D, the 200D motor sounds more like a sewing machine. But I have never had a problem, there is plenty of power. I am moving to Texas and won’t have much use for a car without A/C. I am setting a low price on this because of the work needed – which now I won’t be getting around to do. I have a clean & clear NYS title in hand. This is being sold “As Is” with no warranty, I've described everything I have knowledge of.
