The motor runs great with ample power for an economical 4-cylinder that averages 25 mpg with my driving habits. It has passed emissions with flying colors every year it was tested, and all emission reports and repair receipts are included for the Lucky Winning Bidder to have records of the car's maintenance history. Several original LeBaron manuals and storage pouch are included. In this package I found a lifetime limited warranty for rust prevention that was purchased when the car was new, but I do not know if it transfers beyond the original owner. Details about the warranty are included with the package of documents. I am the second owner and the car has a clear title. This car has 147,000 miles, the last 44,000 of which were driven solely by me, mostly as highway mileage. Over the years I have replaced the battery, starter, belts and hoses, both front and rear windshields, and had a new convertible top installed five years ago. I installed a new radiator, completely overhauled front and rear brake systems with new rear wheel cylinders, shoes and hardware, installed new front brake hoses, rebuilt both front calipers with new pistons and seals, and replaced both front brake rotors. The brakes were overhauled around 15,000 miles ago and show minimal signs of normal wear typical of highway driving. All tires have good tread, are in street legal condition, and hold air as expected. Two original LeBaron deluxe hubcaps are included and two supplements are from GM cars. This car rolls on stock rims fitted with P185/70R14 radial four season tires. This car is fun and comfortable to drive, especially in warm weather with the top down. It needs some repairs to fix a leak in the power steering and also needs exhaust system repairs and a transmission fluid and filter change. I installed a new exhaust system several years ago, but the pipe before the muffler is making noise and the tail extension needs to be replaced. All hangers are present. Not bad for a car of this age and it would make a fun project for a parent to restore with a son or daughter for a first car, or just have a fun fair weather driver if the Lucky Winning Bidder determines this is what her fate will be. When new, this car sold for $18,070.00 and the current value for this model in High Retail condition is $5,430.00 according to the National Automotive Dealers Association recommendations. The trunk lid has a dent on the right side and there is a small ding in the hood that does not affect either's operation. The body might shine up with polishing but, truth be told, it needs a new coat of paint after some minor body work. When replacing its fuel filter I noticed some rust in the right rear floor pan. Most features work as expected, but the windshield wiper switch has an intermittent fault that may be a dirty connection, a faulty switch, or may be the motor. The wipers work okay when the time delay is selected suggesting it may just be a bad switch. The air conditioning system is complete and had no refrigerant when I purchased the car so I do not know if it works or not. Probably just needs recharging. The clutch engages when voltage is applied and the compressor appears to be in good condition. The stereo AM/FM/Cassette player is original and sounds great. Cruise control works and all of the power windows and the rear defroster function as they should. This car also has an on-board trip computer that reports gas mileage, trip ETA and dynamic monitoring of driving habits allowing the driver to optimize fuel economy and it has a drivers side air bag. This car is an awesome candidate for a tech school makeover or for a handy person who likes to restore cars. It is easy to work on, has a few intriguing repairs needed, lots of new parts already installed, and doesn't need much of an investment to put it into great shape again. It would also make a good parts car for someone restoring an 88 LeBaron convertible.
