THIS VOLVO WAS A ONE OWNER CAR UNTIL LATE LAST YEAR WHEN I PURCHASED IT. THIS VOLVO IS FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA (SAN CARLOS). THE CITY OF SAN CARLOS IS NOT ON THE COAST & THIS VOLVO IS RUST FREE AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS AN AREA ON THE ROOF THAT HAD TO BE RE-PAINTED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW BECAUSE OF A DEFECT OR DAMAGE IN THE PAINT (SEE PHOTO). THIS VOLVO WAS GARAGED ALL ITS LIFE UNTIL ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL BLACK PLATE CALIFORNIA CAR. THE PLATES ARE THE ORIGINAL. THIS CAR HAS THE ORIGINAL CLUTCH ! THAT INDICATES TO ME HOW CAREFULLY THIS CAR WAS CARED FOR & DRIVEN. I BELIEVE THE WATERPUMP & MUFFLER IS ALSO ORIGINAL. THE OIL WAS CHANGED ON A REGULAR BASIS OF EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED & IN OPERATING CONDITION WITH A CLEAR TITLE. ALTHOUGH THE CAR RUNS, IT IS IN NEED OF A FULL RESTORATION, INCLUDING PAINT, INTERIOR, & POSSIBLE ENGINE OVERHAUL OR REPAIR . THE ENGINE SEEMS TIRED & DOES NOT HAVE MUCH ACCELERATION. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING IT UP ANY STEEP HILLS. THE COMPRESSION IN 3 CYLINDERS IS ABOUT 150, & 1 CYLINDER IS ABOUT 125. IT HAS JUST BEEN TUNED UP, WITH NEW CAP, ROTOR, POINTS, PLUGS, & WIRES. THE RADIO IS IN WORKING ORDER. THE HORN DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK. I WILL BE SELLING AN ORIGINAL VOVLO NOS DASH PAD SEPARATELY, AS WELL AS A FEW OTHER NOS PARTS (SEE OTHER AUCTIONS). On May-13-10 at 23:35:10 PDT, seller added the following information: WHILE SPEAKING TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER TODAY, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS VOLVO HAS HAD TWO MINOR ACCIDENTS. ONE ACCIDENT CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL ABOVE THE WHEEL, IN THE AREA AROUND THE TRIM MOULDING. THERE WAS NO BONDO USED FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE TESTED THIS AREA WITH A MAGNET & IT STICKS WITH THE SAME STRENGTH THROUGHOUT INCLUDING UNDAMAGED AREAS OF THE CAR. THE PANEL APPEARS TO BE STRAIGHT. THE OTHER ACCIDENT RESULTED IN THE REAR BUMPER BEING REPLACED. AT THE REQUEST OF A PROSPECTIVE BUYER, I INSPECTED UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR MATS & UNDER THE TRUNK MATS. I FOUND A SMALL AREA OF RUST UNDER THE FLOOR MAT BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT NEAR THE DOOR OPENING. I DID NOT FIND ANY OTHER RUST IN OTHER AREAS BENEATH THE FLOOR MATS. I FOUND SOME SMALL RUST SPOTS UNDER THE TRUNK MAT ON THE RIGHT SIDE NEAR THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL THE OTHER AREAS OF THE TRUNK (UNDER THE MAT) ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, INCLUDING UNDER THE SPARE TIRE.On May-15-10 at 00:06:34 PDT, seller added the following information: WHILE RE-INSPECTING THE FOOT WELL IN FRONT OF THE REAR SEAT ON THE LEFT (BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT) , TODAY, I FOUND QUITE A BIT OF RUST. I WAS ABLE TO POKE A SMALL HOLE THROUGH THE FLOOR PAN (ABOUT 1 INCHES WIDE X 1/8 INCH) . THERE APPEARS TO BE RUST FORMING UNDERNEATH THE SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL IN THE FOOTWELL. THIS RUST IS CONFINED TO THE FOOTWELL ON THE LEFT REAR. THE OTHER FOOTWELLS APPEAR TO BE IN GREAT CONDITION. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS KIND OF DAMAGE IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR THESE CARS AS THE WINDOW SEALS TEND TO LEAK, & THE WATER CAN COLLECT IN THE LOWEST POINTS (BEING THE REAR FOOTWELLS). THIS DAMAGE CAN BE REPAIRED/ REMEDIED.On May-15-10 at 08:55:04 PDT, seller added the following information: REGARDING THE ACCIDENT THAT OCCURED IN THE REAR, WITH THE REAR BUMPER BEING REPLACED, I HAVE INSPECTED THE SHEETMETAL UNDERNEATH & IT APPEARS TO BE VERY STRAIGHT INCLUDING THE SUPPORT SECTIONS OF THE SHEET METAL WHERE THE BUMPER BOLTS ON. I DO NOT SEE ANY EVIDENCE OF REPAIR TO THE SHEETMETAL FORWARD OF THE BUMPER.
