Vehicle Detail

This 1989 Lincoln MK VII LSC, with dark midnite blue metallic paint, has been owned by me since 1995 and was purchased as my "toy" back then. I bought it from the original owner with 22,000 miles on it as it was his toy also; garage-kept & rarely driven. The vehicle currently has about 164,000 miles (mostly highway) on it, but everything major is in excellent operating condition & there have been no "crunches". Old-school rules taught to me were practiced; the oil & filter was changed every 3,000 miles whether it needed it or not. Since 1995, I've kept a pretty accurate log of everything that has been repaired/replaced, and I'm fortunate to have in my neighborhood two of the best old-school mechanics around; one a former Lincoln-Mercury dealer mechanic with a vast knowledge of this car. The car was tuned up a few months' ago, and some of the repairs done to it over the past few years were; alternator, radiator & thermostat, headlight switch, & fuel pump. I had the original OEM AM/FM/Cassette system removed a couple years ago and replaced by a top-of-the-line Panasonic AM/FM/CD player. Yes, it has one of those pain-in-the-a*+ ! air-bag suspension systems, but all of the bags, as well as the pump have also been replaced within the past few years, and the air holds perfectly. It still has the OEM Freon-12 A/C system, of which I have to add a can of R-12 about every other year. Last month I had the power door lock solenoid-lifts replaced, and all power items; windows/door locks/moon roof/cruise control, keypad entry , etc, work well. The only glitch is that the fuel gauge sensor doesn't give an acurate reading; I'm told it's probably a bad tank ground, so I gauge my fuel capacity by the trip-meter of miles driven. Other than the leather on the driver's seat side needing a re-stitching, the interior is clean and carpeting like new. As you can see by the pics, the vehicle is straight, with some very minor surface rust at the usual places. The sun-fade shown on the roof & hood are due to the car sitting outside for years, as this car was the "family spare" for the past few years. The passenger-side marker lens will be replaced. It is a nice car for someone looking for that 2nd inexpensive car, or for someone who wants to put a few $$ into either a partial or entire paint job of this OEM color to bring it back to it's original condition. I hope I've covered everything; if not, feel free to contact me. I added a couple pics of the interior which shows the carpeting intact/not worn as I always had car mats down. I can't get an accurate pic of the drivers'seat, which I previously mentioned has some separated leather on it. And one more item..this is SMOKE-FREE car, probably the only bad habit I never got in to. Good luck !
