Vehicle Detail
1973 Honda CB750K3. Dressed as K2 ‘cause the striped tank is much cooler than that huge decal that eats up the whole side of the K3 and later tank. Float bowls and tops polished -New K&N air filter -New intake rubbers and manifolds -Wire harness stripped to bare, repaired/ replaced as necessary, re-taped w/ 3M 333 -New fork seals, filler o-rings, and crush washers -New Progressive fork springs -NOS fork gaitors -New sprockets (17t/48t) and RK 530xso chain -NOS seat -New Yuasa battery -All control cables new Honda -NOS right handlebar switch assembly/ throttle housing -NOS coil -NOS badges/ tank trim -All new Honda swing arm internals: bushings, washers, felts, plastics, collar, and bolt -Petcock rebuilt w/ new o-rings and screen -New DID rims (OE supplier) built with stainless spokes -New wheel bearings -New Honda sprocket dampers -NOS headlight rings -NOS speedo and tach mount rings and rubbers -Modern blade type 15a main fuse wired in to replace sfe. Clutch safety unit disabled, but still there.I know I’m forgetting a few things; this has been an on and off again resto for a few years. ALL rubber and o-rings have been replaced. Here's the cosmetically not-so-pleasing-to-the-discerning-eye:-Some of the fasteners have surface rust. -Dot 3 has taken a bit of fresh paint from the master cylinder and caliper A. Yes, I know the MC is supposed to be anodized. The brake system is NOT leaking.-It has a tendency to wet sump a bit when left on the side stand for several days and not ridden. Solution: if you ain't gonna ride it for a while, put it on the centerstand... Which brings me to:-The oil stains on the left of the engine (which is, by the way a bit later number- 750E2507210) at the cylinder head gasket are just that- stains. I had a "reputable" shop build the engine. It got oily immediately. I tore the top end back down. For the sake of brevity let's say it doesn't leak anymore, all the threads in the head have been helicoiled, and true TDC has been found in regards to cam timing. I will gladly answer any questions. There is also a chip out of the uppermost cylinder fin on the right at center. Avery small chip. The paint on the cases looks great, the paint on the fins is wrinkled in places but not noticeably unless you are looking for it. Speaking of broken stuff:-Left front side cover mounting tab broke when I had an electrical issue early on in the shakedown and had to pull it when the outside temperature was about 30° F. Check the photo. Well repaired and nearly invisible with the seat closed. And that's a lot of pollen in the photo depicting said repair. The tail light assembly, rear fender, shocks, and grab bar are the only things I can think that haven’t been replaced, refurbished, or rebuilt. The odometer says 49781.6 (as of this listing, it may say more when sold...). The speedo and frame may have seen this many miles, but the engine has about 500 on it. Speaking of which, the gauge faces aren't as faded as the photos make them appear.Extra shipping and payment stuff: I prefer the balance be paid in cash. I will accept a cashiers' check or money order only if you are cool with me depositing it before handing over the keys and title. Buyer is responsible for pickup, but I may be talked into driving a bit to meet or deliver for a price. I have spent a ton of time (and money) trying to get this right and think I have; it looks KILLER in person, starts right up (if a bit cold initially), is quick and nimble (and STOPS). Shifts well. There are few things keeping this from being a show winner. Nothing is keeping it from being a daily rider or weekend toy that pretty much gets some kind of comment or question every time it's parked (and sometimes while moving!) . I am only offering this bike for sale because I need the room for my next two projects and have accomplished the goals mentioned above. I'm happy to talk to you on the phone if you are serious. Just email me yr number. Thanks for your consideration.
