Vehicle Detail

PROJECT, in pieces for you to assemble and restore. This project includes a rolling chassis with a boxed frame on GroundHawg tires with a 4 inch lift with new Skyjacker springs and includes a new rebuilt by NAPA 6 cylinder engine, transmission and transfer case, a new uncut fiberglass body with new fiberglass front fenders, an original radiator and Jeep grill, a wiring harness, original windshield and miscellaneous parts that may still be around from the tear down and disassembly. Over $3500 in new parts including the engine and fiberglass body. I am selling this for another and am not familiar with jeeps in general or this project in particular, but will try to get answers to any questions. Bring your trailer for local pick up, I cannot ship. This project may not be complete, but certainly the major components are there. On May-01-10 at 08:05:57 PDT, seller added the following information: PROJECT, in pieces for you to assemble and restore. Here are some things about my jeep off the top of my head. if any one asks you a question you do not know how to answer, email me and i will figure it out one way or another. 1975 CJ-5. The engine is a 258 straight six. i imagine anyone looking at the auction would know that, but you never know. transmission is the stock t-14 three-speed. transfer-case is the spicer model 18, as opposed to the stock model 20. the rear axle is a Dana 44. i think it is off an earlier model to accept the offset output on the driveshaft for the earlier transfer case. the front axle is earlier too. stock would have been dana 30. it is either a dana 25 or 27. pretty sure it is a 27 with the open steering knuckles. tires are 35" Denman Ground Hawgs. stock carter 2-barrel carb. almost certain i rebuilt that years ago. almost certain i took that radiator to Bill's in Princeton and had it hot-tanked, too. So that should be good. ring and pinion's in the axles are very short. they are 5.38 good for rock-crawling, or high-rpm mod bog passes. probably not great for highway. even with the taller tires. the frame has been boxed. although embarrassingly badly, as i wasn't much of a welder back then. I also have the fenders that go with that body. they should be hanging from the rafters in the machine shed. springs are skyjacker 4" lift. for steering: it has a new dropped pitman arm on it to go with the lift. and the tie-rod/connecting rod are new too. I know i bought a new clutch for it. it is either already on it, or underneath the workbench in the shop. I reserve the right to end the auction early as this project is also for sale locally.
