Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a SUPER NICE truck then this is the one for you. This truck is a 2001 Ford F350 XLT Lariat 4wd Crew Cab Dually that ONLY has around 84,900 miles on it. This truck is immaculent and looks almost new inside and out. I have a diesel shop and we buy, sell and trade for trucks all the time that our customers have or find for us. When we get one we go threw it from bumper to bumper to make sure it will be in top shape for the next owner. If the engines are bad we rebuild them here in house unless we can come up with good low milage stock engines out of wrecked trucks. Here is the low down on this truck: I bought this truck as a none running truck that had been setting in a field for about a year do to engine problems. We hauled the truck in and managed to get it to start but it had a knock and enough blow-by to blow your hat off your head. So we pulled the engine out of the truck and found that it had piston skirt that had broke off. The owner ran it this way until got to knocking real bad and this was long enough that the out of balance piston wore the cylinder about 1/16" inch out of round and caused it to crack. So we bought a complete FORD engine overhaul kit and sent the long block to the machine shop. If you have not ever seen or heard of these ford kits here is a short description of them. "Ford offers engine overhaul kits in standard, 0.010-, 0.020-, and 0.030-inch sizes for the 7.3L Power Stroke. All of the parts in the kit are original equipment (OE) and can be purchased from your local Ford dealer." I have also posted a picture of this complete kit. The machine shop checked and mic'ed the block and other than the one bad cylinder this engine was still like new and everything well with standard specs. So we had the machine shop bore the bad cylinder and sleeve it. They bored the sleeve to match the other 7 cylinders and then finished honed all of them. The machine shop also polished the crank and installed new cam bearings. For cheap piece of mind we also had them do a complete head job with all NEW valves installed. The engine was then re-assembled in our shop using the above Ford kit. Not only did we completely rebuild this engine it also got 8 NEW stock Alliant Injectors, ICP Sensor, IPR Valve and a remanufactured High Pressure Oil Pump. This engine is now as close to new as you can get other than a turbo which was good and did not need to any work. The interior of this truck is unbelievable. It is still almost like brand new and it is loaded up. The only issues I can find with the interior of this truck is the overhead display above the mirror no longer works and the power door locks are all real week and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Both of these issues are common issues for these trucks and I have had a bunch of them like this. The exterior of this truck is also immaculent with NO RUST anywhere and that even includes the bottom of all the doors. There are a few chips and scratches in the paint but the body looks to be virtually dent free except maybe a couple real small dings. The tailgate is even in great condition which is something hard to find on these trucks. The bumpers are all straight and grill is not broken nor does it have any chrome peeling or bubbling. The ONLY issue I can find on the body is on the drivers side doors. It looks like they have had a little paint work at some time and the paint is bubbling and flaking a little right around the edge of the bottom window weather strip on both doors. This is nothing major at all as the factory white is under it and I think a person can wet sand the loose stuff off and feather it in and buff it and you would never know. I thought about having this done but then I would feel like I was hiding something from the buyer and I do not want to do that. So I left it alone for the buyer to see and fix themself. It does have aftermarket 4" Flo-Pro exhaust on it but that is all the aftermarket items it has. We checked everything out on this truck from bumper to bumper to make sure it was in top mechanical condition. We change the transmission fluid and filter, checked the transfer and axle fluids and lubed every grease fitting we could find. We also checked the ball joints and found that a couple of them had a little play so we went ahead and replaced all 4 of them. While we were doing the ball joints we found the rotors to be rusted from setting so long so we had the rotors turned and put new brake pads on the front. After the truck was done I drove it for about a week and have put almost 500 miles on it to make sure everything was good to go. The tranny shifts good and the truck drives excellent. The tires all look almost new but they are different brands and I feel they should be replaced after setting for a year. I think that covers all I can think of off the top of my head. As you can see we have put a lot of time and money into the truck. We have over $6000 in just parts and that does not include any machine shop work and or labor. I have included a lots of pictures of the truck now and when we had it tore down to rebuild just so no one thinks I am posting any misinformation. If you are looking for a truck like this and you want one that is almost as good as new then this is the one you want. The engine does not even have enough miles on yet to seat the rings which means you can break it in however you want. Someone is going to be getting them a SERIOUSLY NICE truck when they buy this one. These 7.3L Power Strokes are extremely hard to come by in this kind of condition and with this kind of milage. This one is not only immaculent inside and out with LOW milage, but it also has a fresh engine and you can't get any better than that. This truck has got to be as close to a new 7.3L Power Stroke truck as you will get. This truck is ready to roll and do anything you want with it and go anywhere. A couple months back there was a truck just like this with the same milage that sold here on ebay and it brought almost $22,000. It was only an XLT and even though it was extremely nice I do not think it was as nice as this one and it did not have a fresh engine like this one. I know my description is long winded but I want to be sure I cover everything I know about this truck so there is no surprises or misunderstandings for the buyer. If you are at all interested in this truck please feel free to call me with any questions at my shop 417-859-0895 during the hours of 9-5 central time. Also, please be sure to ask any and ALL questions before you bid and please bid ONLY if you are serious about buying this truck. Please do not waste my time. Thank you for looking at my auction and good luck bidding. Additions to description: The Power Stroke badge on the drivers side door blew off while I was driving it. We have a new one on the way and it will be put on shortly. This truck is for sale localy and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time as long as the bidding has not met our reserve. On May-01-10 at 10:05:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok we are getting all kinds of LOW BALL offers on this truck and I want to set things straight so we are not wasting each others time. $12,000 and $13,000 will NOT buy this truck, PEROID. We have more than that in this truck. We also have a standing local offer that is a good amount higher than that if this truck does not sell on ebay. I will entertain offers that are reasonable for this truck but from this point on I will not respond to any more low ball offers. You are not going to buy a truck like this anywhere else for under $16,000+. There is a truck identical to this one setting on a lot down the road from our shop that has 136,000 miles on it and it is priced at $18,900. Another lot close to us sold the same truck 3 weeks ago for $16,200 and it had over 150,000 miles on it. So please only send reasonable offers so we do not have to waste each others time. If nothing else I will keep the truck for myself as it will be like getting a new truck. Thanks...
