Vehicle Detail

1968 Ford LTD Coupe 390 Auto Original Condition You are viewing a 1968 Ford LTD 2 door coupe. It is in very original condition equipped with a 390, auto transmission, power steering, power brakes and hideaway headlights. I have original paperwork for the first owner in late 1967 and then the second owner (little old lady) in 1970. The inspection sticker is from 1992 and since then it has been comfortably resting in the garage of the second owners home until April 2010 when her family started cleaning out her home. She drove the car until she was 88 yrs old and then put it to pasture inside her PAVED garage. While it was on the road she had the car oil undercoated religiously which has preserved this car like very few others that have sat for almost 20 yrs in New England. There are a few minor areas of surface rust, but I have seen absolutely no rot. The inside of the trunk is like brand new. The Ford trunk cardboard and paint is in remarkable shape. The floorboards are very solid. The interior was protected by moth balls and dryer sheets and still looks very, very nice with minimal wear. The Ford sticker is still on top of the steering wheel telling you to set the parking brake and put it in park before you remove the key. The dark blue exterior paint appears to be mostly original and is presentable. There are some areas where there is a tiny bit of surface rust and the hood paint has lots of tiny hairline cracks. The vinyl top is not dry cracked or shrunk. I see no areas where there is rust around the edges. Also the rear deck panel (inside) is not warped from getting wet. The hood moulding and fender mouldings are slightly jammed up but all the other trim is there and straight. The bumpers are straight but show age. The doors open and close effortlessly. Basically the body and interior of the car needs next to nothing. The downside to the car is that it has sat for almost 20 years. I have not attempted to turn it over or move it any any manner other then with a car hauler. The rear wheels are locked but the fronts roll fine. It appears that all this car needs is to have the driveline and brakes freshened up and it would make a great cruiser. On Apr-26-10 at 21:00:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I put jumper cables on the car to see if it would turn over. The engine turned over just fine for a couple cranks but the starter stayed engaged so I took the power off of the battery to not cause any real problems. Before the starter stuck I checked all of the lights and EVERYTHING worked. Additionally, the car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction early. Again thank you for your interest.
