1971 Volvo P1800E, P1800, 1800 I recently purchased this volvo to do a restomod similar to the Vox Volvo. I just now purchased a Lotus Elise and need the garage space so the Volvo has to go. This is a '71 coupe, 4 cyl, electronic fuel injections, automatic, 4 wheel disc brakes. I started taking the car completely a part to soda blast and weld all new metal. As you can see from the pics, there is a lot of rust that is needing replaced. Basically all the spots that are typical of the Volvos, front and rear of tires, trunk seal, floor panels, around headlights and around the hood. I figured about $2000 dollars to replace all the metal needed. The engine ran when I purchased it, but I didn't like the power so I replaced the points with a petronix and haven't gotten it started yet. The transmission shifted good and the brakes were good. I was planning on replacing the engine/trans with a turbo miata engine/trans combo. Would be a great combination for such a light weight car. I have shown pictures before I stripped it and after. I still have all the parts from before the stripping except for the chrome on the sides. I was planning a smooth exterior with remote doors and trunk. I am needing to move it very quickly so my new Lotus can go in the garage. Buy it now is really low with a short auction period.
