Vehicle Detail

Please scroll down THROUGHOUT the entire auction. View all the pictures and video clips prior to asking questions or submitting a bid. I have spent many hours creating this auction. I am providing over 150 detailed pictures and video clips of this vehicle. UNLIKE most cars here on Ebay, I have big pictures of the engine bay, interior, and even the undercarriage so you KNOW EXACTLY what you are buying. I have tried to provide a detailed picture of every possible square inch of this car. I do not want to waste your time or mine and I want you to know EXACTLY what you are buying with NO surprises. From watching other comparable 68' Chevelles sell here on Ebay, It would not surprise me if this car sells for thousands more then my reserve price. BID TO BUY, MY RESERVE IS LOW. I will consider serious offers as I have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. My feedback tells the story. =) Up for sale is my beautiful, solid, and straight 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 2dr post car with a BBC 468. According to Year One(CLICK HERE), there was a total of 9,733 2-door sedan 300's produced in 1968. Who knows how many are actually left, but this is 1 of them. This car had a mild restoration done on it in 1998/1999. Since then, it literly has about 1500-2000 TOTAL miles of road time. It sat in the garage underneath a car cover, and was only cruised around town every once in a while. I will completely describe this car below. The ONLY reason I am selling it, is because I also have a 69' Pro touring Firebird. Hopefully I don't regret this, and it has been a very hard decision for me, but I am going to keep the 69' instead of this 68' Chevelle. I have the clean and clear title(in my name) in hand. This car is ready for a new proud owner of which I hope takes good care of it. You can contact me by phone at: 513-464-TEN TWENTY, or you can of course use the ask a question link above in the auction. This classic appears to have been a southern car for part or most of its life. The body panels, undercarriage, and frame are very solid. The hood, both doors, and the trunk open and close like new. They all have even gaps and everything lines up nicely. This car was painted in 1998, but has been garage kept and under a car cover. The entire body was professionally painted with Dupont base/clear. It was painted Viper GTS Blue Pearl Coat which looks georgous on a bright sunny day. The paint code is SBE or PBE, cant remember which one. During this time, it had brand new mouldings, bumpers, door handles/locks with gaskets, weatherstripping throughout, a glass cowl hood, and a new black vinyl top installled. The doors and trunk have that hard to find solid "click" sound when pushing them shut. All of the exterior lights including the license plate and marker lights work great. All of the glass including the windshield is also crack free. The paint still has a very deep shine and looks like a mirror. It is an absolutely beautiful and cleancut car, but this car does have a few minute imperfections that I will nitpick in writing as well as show in the detailed pics below. The hood has a scratch in the front middle part of the scoop. The passenger front fender has a small dent/ding on the side of it. The front edge of the passenger door has a little bit of paint chipped off of it. It needs a new trunk lock and passenger side front fender moulding. The drivers door handle push button quit working a few weeks ago. The worst part of this cars body, is the trunk lip and under the trunk lid. Both(as pictured) had some pitting from rust starting on them years ago. They were properly sandblasted and prepped prior to paint back in 1998 so it has definitely been secured and has not escalated or gotten worse at all. These cars are very hard to find this straight. The body looks like a mirror. Overall, the body of this car is absolutely beautiful. It is not of "Barrett Jackson" caliber, but it easily could be if the small imperfections were fixed.... Ill let the detailed pictures of the body do the rest of the talking below....but please keep scrolling down to see pictures and video clips of the engine bay and interior. This 68' Chevelle 300 2dr post car has a BBC V8 468ci roller motor that runs on pump gas. The BBC engine was professionally built with performance and reliability in mind. It has roller rockers, roller cam, Merlin oval port heads, etc...and a Demon 850 carburater. Feeding this BBC is a 16gal fuel cell with a Barry grant fuel system that consists of 2 fuel psi gauges. One in the trunk, and one underneath the cowl hood of which the driver can see. It has an aluminum radiator that keeps it cool. In fact, it is very, very rare for this car to get up to 180 degrees. It stays very cool, even in the hottest mths of the summer. This engine breathes in air through a K&N Air filter and exhales through full 3" exhaust. It has a nice set of headers along with a set of Flowmaster mufflers. This car has an excellent deep & mellow BBC loping sound. There is no exhaust leaks and all of the sound exits the rear of this car. The transmission is a TH400 that was completely rebuilt about 150 miles ago. It was rebuilt using high quality red racing clutches along with a shift kit inside of it. This transmission is shifted with a B&M shifter on the floor. The rearend gear is a 3:73. This car is sporting a set of Weld rims wrapped with new Mickey Thompson street drag radial tires. The front tires are 205/65/15's. The rear tires are 275/50R15's. This car has manual brakes and steering, however they both work good. It steers very easy. It has a newer Optima red top battery. This car was built for cruising around, but was at the dragstrip on 1 sunday afternoon for curiosity. It ran consistent 12.10's, all motor, on pump gas, and I have the time slips to show for it. I also have a binder(about 1" thick) full of receipts and information on the build of the engine and drivetrane. Also, I just changed the oil and filter with Mobil 1 full synthetic aproximately 50 miles ago. I could jot down every single part on this car, but Ill let the detailed pictures below do that for me. I have pictures below of underneath this car to show how solid and nice it truly is. And as you can see in the pictures below, this car was not thrown together like a lot of classic cars you see out there. All of the drivetrane was built along with all of the wiring, lines, and hoses with detail in mind. Some of the interior is new and looks amazing. The door panels, carpet, headliner, and seat covers look new. The dash looks nice and original. The dash pad is presentable, but has 1 crack in the middle. The original speedometer, headlight/parklight switch, turn signals(including dash arrow lights), horn, and even the door buzzer works! The autometer RPM, temp, oil, and volt gauge works accurately. The interior gauge lights, aftermarket gauges including the fuel gauge under the scoop all light up and look cool at night. All 4 windows roll up & down freely. This car also has a roll cage that is for the most part hidden and does not affect getting in and out of it like most you see. This car was not intended for driving in the rain, so the wiper motor and wipers are off of the car. Also, seat belts have not been installed yet, but I *think* I have a set for this car. Overall, the interior is pretty cleancut and nice looking. Please scroll down to view the rest of this auction including the TERMS OF SALE at the very bottom... This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe 2dr post car is not perfect, but is overall, an absolutely beautiful & rare classic car. Its amazing how many heads turn, honk their horns, and/or give thumbs up when you cruise this car through town. It will be difficult for me to let this car go as these classics in this condition are hard to come by, but I have decided to keep my Pro Touring 69' Bird. I wish I could keep both, but I dont have the time, space, or funds to do so.
