Vehicle Detail

This auction is for an excellent-running and driving 1949 Hudson Super Six Club Coupe. This car is garaged and is driven 1-2 times each week. It starts easily and runs very well and moves along comfortably at 60/65 with the overdrive engaged. The Hudson has the later 308 flathead inline-six that replaced the 262. It has been converted to 12-volt and uses a GM alternator. The 3-speed transmission was rebuilt last month. A new input shaft was installed and so was a new flywheel ring gear. The starter motor has a new starter main drive. The cork clutch has been inspected while out of the transmission and is in good condition. The front brake drums were resurfaced in 2009 and the brake shoes/pads are in good condition; the brakes work very well. The overdrive works as it should. The radiator has a few small leaks. The hoses are all in good condition. The headlights – high and low beams – work, as do the tail and brake lights and the dome light. The hood emblem light, license plate light and dashboard lights all work. The turn signal is not connected. The speedometer, odometer and fuel gage all work as they should. The windshield wipers, horn, heater fan, windows and door locks all work. The clock works intermittently; I believe that the winding motor needs to be replaced. The temperature gauge needs to be rewired. The radio does not work. At some point, the Hudson was repainted after a so-so preparation. Filler waviness can be seen and there are paint runs near the fuel door and headlight. There are small hail dents that can be seen from an angle on the hood and roof. The driver’s quarter-panel and passenger rocker panel are dented, as seen. The leading bottom corner of the passenger door is bent, as seen. The chrome is complete and straight and appears all original; some pitting and scratching. The stainless grille trim is complete. The stainless rocker-panel trim is missing a few pieces, as seen, including where the body-panel bolt-heads would be otherwise covered. All four wheel rings are present, two hubcaps are missing. The tires are in fair/good condition. There are no cracks in the glass; the rear window has light scratches and the rear driver-side window is replacement glass that rolls up and down a little roughly. There is primer on the visor and c-pillars where thin filler has been smoothed. The seat fabric and headliner were replaced at some point; the seats are in good condition, the headliner has some staining. The front carpet has been removed. 3 of the door panels have been removed; all door panels are sold with the car, as are their correct ashtrays. The original jack and spare wheel are included. The odometer reads just over 65k miles. Bidders are welcome to inspect the Hudson in person by appointment; contact me via email through ebay with any questions. Vehicle is sold as is. Buyer is responsible for all shipping/pickup expenses of the car. A PayPal deposit of $200.00 is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction, and payment in full (minus deposit) is due within 7 days of auction's close in bank check, certified check, cashier's check or cash form. On Apr-21-10 at 22:21:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Received a question about the trunk floor; a little dusty inside from time, it has the original coating and has been painted black.
