Vehicle Detail
I originally purchased this GT from eBay as a father/son project three years ago. Unfortunately both of us have other projects and are not able to finishing the car. Previous owner installed a new fiberglass belly pan from Opel GT Source in addition to a ducktail spoiler. Overall the body work is pretty good except at the junction of the spoiler and body, it needs to be smoothed out. There are a few rust bubbles at the bottom of the right wheel well and around the exhaust cutouts. The rockers, fenders, doors and hood are in good condition. Floors need to be patched - it was that way when I bought it. The paint job is not the greatest (orange peel), it should be repainted. Headlight buckets, front side markers, blinkers and grills are included. All of the glass, including the windshield, is in great shape. Headliner and carpet are missing and the seats need to be recovered. The rest of interior is complete but weathered. Dash pad is cracked but the instrument panel is not damaged. The speedometer shows 41,432 miles, I do not know if that is original or not. The engine is a hi-compression 1.9L which runs great. It has been upgraded with a header, Weber carburetor, and Pertronix ignition. There is no exhaust system from the header back. Some extra parts will be included - bumpers, steering column, and a set of aluminum rims. There are a few new parts - brake pads, wheel cylinder kits, aftermarket mirrors, and some other odds and ends. This GT is a project car and needs work before it can be driven. The state of Georgia only requires a bill of sale on a vehicle this old. This GT has been registered and insured for over two years. It must be picked up within two weeks after auction end. I will be available to help load the car. A $300 deposit must be made via paypal within 48 hours of auction end. The remaining balance can be paid at time of pickup. On Apr-19-10 at 20:54:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I had several questions concerning the areas of the floor that need patching. Both floors are soft under the seat mounting points. There are some additional holes on the forward portion of the floorboards. The drivers side is worse than the passenger side. Attached is a picture of the drivers floor after applying some force with a putty knife. Also included is a photo of one of the 13” aluminum rims. I’m not sure what vehicle they came from, but they fit the GT without any interference. If anyone would like to remove their bid, send me an email.
