Vehicle Detail
Stampings: Rear End: Foundry: 123467890 CON2 Date: K261 Casting: 3969278NF Engine Code - JK, 1969 Chevelle 396/325 The interior was just restored, including Dynamat on the floor, doors and rear deck. All new door panels, carpet, chrome handles, center console, dash panel, etc. The engine is a non-matching 396 / 325HP. It’s really the best part of the car. Holley Performance 4 bbl carb. Newer exhaust with the correct shaped tail pipes. Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmission with horseshoe shifter. The wheels are the correct SS wheels for this car, but could use reconditioning if you’re going to show the car. The tires have 70% left and are the Daytona Radial S/R. A new “original looking” AM/FM stereo with USB and iPod connections in the center arm rest makes listening to the music so much more enjoyable. Two speakers in the front kick panels and 2 rear speakers in the rear deck. The stereo is old looking but has a lot of new features as you can connect a CD changer to it, and amp, etc. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL AM RADIO THAT I WILL INCLUDE. IT STILL WORKS! Also just added last month are brand new steering linkage and front and rear sway bars from Hotchkis. I still have the originals if you want, but the new Hotchkis suspension parts really make this car handle better. 12-bolt rear end as well. Power breaks with discs up front and drums in the rear. The color (Cortez Silver) and bucket seats are correct and reflects the codes on the trim tag. All dash gages are the real original SS gages, not the new reproduction ones that have a red tint to them. I have a long list of every part I’ve added to the car with the date, cost and where I bought it from that I can show you if interested. Also, I have a lot of photos from the interior restoration. CLICK HERE FOR MORE PICTURES ALSO….I will include the car cover made especially for the 1970 Chevelle body. I had a wheel alignment done, and now it drives straight as an arrow. Now for the cons: The body is not perfect, it has about 4 very small bubbles in the paint in the rear quarter panel near the bumper and a couple cracks. Hardly noticable, but still I needed to make a note of it. The remaining cortez silver paint it shiney and nice. The speedometer is slightly off, about 4 MPH at lower speeds and 10 MPH at higher speeds over 60 MPH. I've had problems trying to find a correct speedo gear that reads accurately. The fuel gauge doesn't work, but I've been told it needs a new sending unit. The clock is original and doesn't turn, but what car clock this age does? The RPM guage works as it should. The trunk could use a new trunk pan which I’ve gotten a quote for and it would be about $500 to replace and spatter painted Call or email for more information. 608-444-5008. BEFORE NEW INTERIOR - DYNAMAT INSTALLED ON FLOOR AND DOORS On Mar-29-10 at 10:43:37 PDT, seller added the following information: It has come to my attention, pointed out by a few on-lookers, that this Chevelle is an LS6. However, it does not have the original engine or trans. Key points are the 6500 redline tack and the 4.10 rear end.
