Rare 1982 Datsun/Nissan 720 factory Diesel pickup. Good condition inside and out. Body is very strait. The bottoms of the doors have some rust bubbles starting to show (see pics), but the rest of the body seems to be rust free. The glass is good, however the front windshield has a few dings in it and a two inch crack in front of the passenger seat (the crack has never gotten bigger since I've had the truck). Everything works as it should with the exception of the intermittent wipers. The speedometer seems to read about 10 mph fast for some reason. The SD22 diesel runs strong and always starts easily warm or cold. It does smoke quite a bit (fuel smoke, not oil) on cold start up, but clears up quickly with no smoke after a minute or less. The smoking issue seems to be common with these old Datsuns- I don't know why. I assume it's fuel leaking into the cylinders from the injectors after it's been shut off and then not being burned off cleanly on cold start up. The motor has no blow by when running, has oil consumption that one would expect from an old diesel, maybe a few quarts between oil changes (burns it, not leaks). 157,xxx miles, runs strong and strait down the road. Brakes and clutch are strong. It will cruise at 70mph down the freeway. Tires are old and ready for replacement. The heater works great. It has a cheap CD player and cheap speakers, but they do function. This truck is to be sold AS-IS. It is 28 years old and there is no warranty expressed or implied. I'm more than happy to accommodate anybody who wants to have a pre-purchase inspection.
