Vehicle Detail
PLEASE NOTE: FOR SOME REASON THE INFORMATION EBAY FILLED OUT FOR ME AND OVER WHICH I HAVE NO CONTROL SAYS THIS CAR HAS A V6 ENGINE. THEY ARE INCORRECT; IT IS A V8. (See pictures...) This is a 1995 Mercury Cougar XR7 that was our teenage son's car since January of last year. It is being sold as-is as for parts or as a project. The main issue is that the right lower ball joint broke, making the car immobile. It will need at least a ball joint and lower control arm likely a tire, and possibly a spindle. The wheel is scratched up on the inside but from what I can see it looks usable. There is also damage to the right fender and inner skirt as a result of all this. Other known issues: The speedometer works but the odometer does not. It was showing almost 92,000 on it when we got it a little over a year ago, but we don't know exactly when the odometer quit. I forget what the seller told us...The air conditioning needs to be charged. The right outside door lock cylinder has been punched out and there is a plate over the hole (see photos).Minor damage to the left parking light and sheet metal in the same area (see photos).Appearance-wise, it's a typical 15+ year-old car. There are scrapes and scratches here and there and the interior shows wear and the occasional cigarette burn. On the plus side, it runs very well. The battery is new within the last few months; replaced under warranty by Pep Boys. It has power windows, power seats (both front) with lumbar adjustment, tilt steering, cruise control, automatic climate control, heated back glass, and automatic lights (which I find annoying, but that's just me....). It also has power outside mirrors, but the glass is damaged in each. It has a clear title. It is located in Accokeek, Maryland, about 11 miles from the Washington, DC beltway and just off Indian Head Highway (MD 210). It will need to be towed or trailered, and if you want to trailer it you'll need a means to winch it onto the trailer. It is on a gravel driveway and cannot be moved under its own power because one lower control arm is on the ground. DISCLAIMERS: It has a decent, almost new, replacement radio/CD player in it, but #1 son wants to keep it. It is not included in the sale, but you're free to haggle with him when you get here. Have at it!The mileage shown in the listing is there because Ebay requires something there & won't let you say it is unknown, or over X, or whatever. We have NO idea what the actual mileage is. The odometer reading field on the title says "not required." I guarantee good title, which will be filled in completely at the time of sale. Seller will must furnish valid identification.Other than good title, there is no other warranty of any sort, express or implied, without limitation. If it breaks in half you will be the proud owner both pieces. If it lands on your foot it's going to hurt, and if it winds up in the river it will sink. Beyond that you're on your own.SETTLEMENT & REMOVAL: A $200 deposit is due via Paypal within 48 hours of the close of the auction. Balance may be paid via Paypal online prior to pickup, or in cash a time of pickup. Checks of any sort will not be accepted. Balance must be paid & vehicle removed within seven days of the close of the auction. As noted above, it must be towed. I really want it out of the yard...should purchaser fail to pay the balance due after the deposit, or fail to remove the vehicle within the parameters specified, purchaser will be in DEFAULT and seller may cancel the sale. Any deposit paid will be forfeited and NOT returned to the purchaser and the seller will be free to relist the vehicle or otherwise dispose of ut in any manner he sees fit without any liability. Okay...now that we've got that nonsense out of the way....I'll work with you as much as I can, but I've been burned a couple of times before and I don't want to go through it again. If you've got any questions please ask. You're welcome to come and look at it if you like; please email and we'll work that out. Thanks for stopping by!!!!
