1966 Corvette AIR Roadster. High option car. 327/300hp number matching engine, Automatic Transmission, Factory Air Conditioning (converted to 134a), Power Steering, Power 4 Wheel Disc Brakes, White Soft Top w/Red Auxiliary Hard Top, Power Windows, Factory (working) AM/FM Radio, and Non Working Power Antenna. Original Code 974 Red Car with Black Vinyl Interior. The car shows 49900 miles but the odometer stopped working a few years ago. The car was not used between 1975 and 2000 when I purchased it so the miles may be somewhat accurate. Who knows? 4 years ago I rebuilt the original engine and transmission and the machine shop said the engine did not have many miles on it just collapsed rings and bad valve seals due to long term storage. I also went through the carburetor at that time. The car starts, runs and drives nice and I would not be afraid to take it on a road trip as my wife and I have a few times. The A/C does work but shortly after converting it to 134a freon it developed a leak at the TSV so it will need repair or replacement. Some time early in this car's life the 66 lower fenders were replaced with 67 ones. The car needs a complete paint job but still looks presentable as is maybe from 20 feet. All the body panels need attention mostly due to poor previous body repair and general age. I have used this car as a "daily driver" and enjoy the fact that I am not worried about some one damaging it. If some one did that would have been my excuse to fully frame off restore this car and then I probably could not enjoy it as I do now. The interior is all original "survivor condition" as far as I can tell. The frame is very solid but does have some scale and flakeing in various places. As far as I can tell there are no rotted or broken spots on the frame and should clean up well. This is my opinion. This car has been enjoyed by my entire family for 10 years and a future move is requiring me to sell it . It can be enjoyed as is or taken to any next level of restoration eassily and for little money.
