Vehicle Detail
Hello,We are selling our 1988 Mercedes Benz 420 Sel. We purchased it 12/6/2004 and have owned it the last 15 years and have all receipts and service records going back to then. Car has approximately 80,600 miles on it and has always been garaged. We are downsizing our collection so it's time to let a new owner enjoy the Mercedes. Have had some recent service done to the car at continental cars the last few months to get it ready to sell which includes: Fix Ac (5/18), Replacing spark plugs (7/18), replaced idler arm (9/18, still needs new alignment), replaced distrubiutor cap and ignition coil (9/18), Oem brake pads front and rear(12/18), and just replaced the mono valve to fix the Hvac since it was leaking and had the oil changed 1/17/19. And there are many other service records going back to various parts that have been replaced or serviced over the years. As I like to be 100% transparent on all cars I sell the car has a few issues - It has a miss at idle and my mechanic says it will need a remanufactured fuel distributor installed and preferably a set of injectors, could use an alignment after having that idler arm replaced as it has a slight shake around 70 MPH, and has a minor oil leak. Body is in great shape other than one small door ding, one scuff on the rear bumper, and the passenger side rear end has a good door ding in it that could probably be PDR'd out, I will include pictures of them at the end. Other than that it is a great car and in great shape. Very clean inside and out and one of the nicer examples out there. All parts have always been replaced with Oem at a Mercedes mechanic and we have installed an aftermarket stereo system with aftermarket speakers and sub that sounds great in the car. I am asking $4,000 for the car as a reman fuel distributor can be had on ebay for around $500 and another $166 for the set of 8 injectors so I am reflecting that in the price instead of asking top dollar. Robert at continental cars is familiar with the car and can install them for you with no issues. They do great work up there. Test drives for serious buyers only, located near the fairgrounds. Shipping can be arranged at buyers expense.
