Here it is: The amazing GB500 you've been waiting to buy! A rare and gorgeous motorcycle, and this one's ready to turn heads at your next ride! Only 5700 miles, still has it's beautiful black-green paint, runs like a Honda should, and never fails to get comments from people! My father and I admired these from the very first time we saw them when they were first released. Thank time went by and I found myself single and thinking about a vintage bike, and I found this lovely beast! I've had it for a dozen years, or so, but haven't put even a thousand miles on it. I ended up abroad, or on the other side of the country, so it stayed tucked away with little rides every few months. The paint is in good shape, with minor swirl marks and little teeny scratches and marks — Overall very good looking. The engine case is in good shape, not scuffed. I hand-polished the forks a couple of years ago, as they had the usual vintage-Honda-discoloration. Now they gleam! I wish I'd done it years ago! (hard on the hands, though, but now they're smooth and shiny and will stay that way with normal washing and waxing) Even before I read Peter Egan's review, I'd already addressed some of the modern aesthetic issues he brought up, and he's right: it is better without them! I never liked the '80's style mirrors and turn signals, so I changed them out for LED bullets and bar-end mirrors right away. I also fitted a modern repro Triumph taillight and LED bulbs. I think the whole look is MUCH more attractive, and just a subtle cleaning up of the beautiful bike. I just put it back the way I think it was DESIGNED to be. This motorcycle has been well maintained and is in good running condition. Electrical systems are working, brakes in good shape, the bike shifts smoothly (as these bikes are supposed to!) If you have any questions about this GB500, just ask me... I kept all the original parts, so anyone who wants to put it back stock can quickly return it to its original state. All the parts are included in the sale, of course. The tires have only a few hundred miles on them, but they are ten or more years old now (still look and feel fine when I took it out last month.) There is a little dent in the tach, there when I got it and the previous owner didn't know where it came from, either...I have never minded it at all, as the entire point of these bikes is Vintage Style, and a little knock or two is entirely in the spirit! Overall, this is a great bike, and a well-preserved specimen! I hate to part with this rare and beautiful GB500, but it's time...New projects and only so much time in the schedule, so I am looking for a good home for great bike!
