I buy trucks from the south and out west, to re sell here in the midwest for extra money. This truck came from Louisiana and has not been driven in road salt. It does not have rot or cancer. The only rust worth mentioning is in the bed, where the paint was scratched off and surface rust has formed - no rust through. Rockers are perfect, and the whole underside still has factory paint. The truck has a 7.3 diesel that and ZF6 manual transmission. When I bought the truck - it did NOT have a transmission in it. The previous owner took the transmission out, to fix another truck. I had a transmission sitting in my barn from a donor truck & that is the reason I purchased the truck. I figured I could throw my transmission in it and sell the truck. I was unsure about my donor transmission because i did not know the history of it. Anyway, as you can see from the last photos, the clutch is in very good shape. The transmission works and will get you where you need to go, but it really needs to be rebuilt. It will sometimes grind when going into gear. It will also pop out of gear sometimes when you hit a big bump. Bottom line - you will need to rebuild the transmission, but it's definitely a good core and should get you home. The engine starts, even in cold weather. The turbo spools up nicely and makes good power. There are no noticable drips. It does not smoke, even on start up. I bought 2 new napa batteries for it, that are approximately a year old now. I also bought 4 brand new tires & they have less than 300 miles on them. I have not drive the truck much since I bought it. The interior is decent for the age - no big rips in the drivers seat. The fabric in the front seat does not match the rear, so i'm guessing the front seat was replaced at some point by the previous owner. The body has its share of dings and scrapes. Definitely not a show truck, but it's not horribly smashed or wrecked - the only large dent is behind the rear wheel on the drivers side. The bad: It has manual roll down windows. The cruise control is not working and I have not investigated the problem. Also, the rear doors do not open - I have not messed with it. This is a good solid 7.3 powerstroke that needs some work - it's not perfect. Buying a truck is like buying a house. You have to look at the foundation. If you start with rusty rocker panels and rotted out fender wells and a radiator core support that is falling off the bushings - the truck has cancer and you will dump way more money into it, than if you just spent a little more up front for something solid. THIS TRUCK IS ROCK SOLID. Yes it needs work, but it's easier and cheaper to install a rebuilt transmission, than treat a cancer patient. Located in Sheffield Village OH 44054.
