If you are looking for some 80's gear-driven-cam V4 superbike magic this is your opportunity. This was the fastest bike in the world when this model was introduced. It has the famous gear driven cams that sound like a supercharger. A great bike to just ride or invest in, the values are going up but they are still at an affordable level. Clean and clear title in hand, key powers up the ignition system (check out the gauges picture) and the engine turns over. My buddy had this bike started 2 years ago but I never fully reassembled the bike and now I need room in the garage so it's for sale. Upper and lower fairing have had some repair work and there is a crack on the right side of the belly fairing. No rust in the tank. While this bike is mostly complete with original engine (eng# SC16E-2200517) and exhaust (stamped HMMJ4A), I would describe it as a project bike because overall the bike needs the carbs cleaned and additional assembly and work like any 30+ year old motorcycle would need. Production numbers are low and the "R" model VF1000 got fully faired, racer replica bodywork with rearset footpegs and adjustable silver/gold clip-on handlebars. The lower fairing also features spring-loaded vent doors which can be opened and closed in order to cool the engine and rider during warm weather conditions. If you're looking for a VF1000R the 1986 model is the bike to buy because it has the very desirable euro style dual round endurance racer headlights and taillights.
