Up for auction, my 1989 Honda CB-1 (CB400F). If you clicked on this action there’s good chance you already know what this is, but maybe you just like things that are painted blue so here’s a quick introduction. Only made for three years and only brought to the U.S. for the first two, this is a 400cc naked sports bike with an engine based on the CBR400RR. While this one does not currently run, it could with a little bit of effort. Let's start with the bad:No spark.Carbs will need tuning. When it ran, it ran rich when warm.Passenger peg mounts have been cut off, so no two-up without some fabrication.Big ol' Bondo patch on the tank (see pictures), missing trim and some damage to the tail section.Crack in the frame at the left upper motor mount.And now with the good: New chainFresh fluids (oil, coolant, forks and brakes)Tires are older, but have fresh tread ('09/'10 date codes) Everybody has opinions on this, I'd replace them.Nice "Devil" slip-on (from France!)Good, if not great, seatRick's CBR600 Regulator/Rectifier to solve the annual factory replacements.New fuel pumpAnd of course, low miles.I rode this bike for a very short period of time and loved every minute, but I just don't have the time or space for it anymore and I'd love to see it go to a good home.
