Most important of these were a drop-center ladder frame, allowing the cab to sit lower, and independent front suspension, giving an almost car-like ride in a truck. Also new for 1960 was a new designation system for trucks made by GM – APACHE! Cat wranglers, not classic truck experts, our nonprofit saved this piece of Americana with 65,500 miles on the odometer from a Northern Ca estate; great for frame-off restoration or parts. With the classic pickup truck market seeing a resurgence in both growth and value in recent years, finding a pre-smog pickup truck for restoration or customization at a good price is getting harder and harder to achieve.
