1992 GMC Typhoon I'm putting up for sale my beloved Typhoon. I have own it for about 15 years. It has been in storage for the last 13 years. Ebay removed this listing once because in the history of the vehicle in 1996 it went through a salvage auction, this was long before i got it. I have a clear Michigan title and i have a taken a picture of it. In Michigan if the title had been branded as a salvage title back in 1996 it would have reappeared when it was retitled after it came back to Michigan. Which means it never would have had a salvage title. I called ebay and tried to explain it and they had no understanding at all what I was talking about. Any way i had to list it as a rebuilt title, but it does have a clear title. Please email me with any questions. Here's what I can tell you about it. I bought it needing a transmission and some cosmetic work inside. I replaced the trans with a 35,000 mile unit and did some repairs to the inside. I put a new cd player in it and a NOS center console cover. For some reason the previous owner put all kids of switches and on the dash and center console. One the switches controls line locks, but I never determined which one it is as they don't work anyway. I enjoyed taking the Typhoon to car shows and every once in a while surprising some kid in a Mustang GT that had know idea what he was messing with. Through a lot of different things going on in my life, the truck set for the last 13 years in a couple of different barns, always on a cement floor. I've accrued some medical bills over the last few years and I've just don't have the money or time to fix the things that need to be done on it. Selling the Typhoon will take care of my medical bills, so regretfully it's time for it to go. It needs some cosmetics on the inside. The headliner is coming loose up by the windshield, the passenger seat is shaped kind of funny at the front, there is a aftermarket boost gauge on the left pillar and some trim has came loose on the inside. On the outside the body is in good shape, but here is what is what I've noticed what is wrong with it. The clear coat on the roof is peeling off There is rust forming on the bottom lip of the doorsMy dad bumped in to it with his mower and knocked off the right rear ground effect, i have it but it's ripped and needs fixing.I have all then center cas for the wheels, i'm sure it's going to need tires from sitting. The power windows and the sunroof work, but the are slow. The have always been like that. The windshield is broken and will need to be replaced. The exhaust is shot and needs replaced. It starts right up, but runs rough. I'm sure it will need the gas drained and some other maintenance done to it. It ran good when i parked it years ago. I would say it would probably need to be trailered away, because it has just set so long things will need to be done to it before it is put on the road. I'm trying to let you know all the bad so there wont be any surprises for the new owner. The good is the truck isn't all beat up, most everything that is wrong is from setting and with the exception of the missing broken ground effect and the clear coat on the roof, it's a very nice looking truck.
