Vehicle Detail
Please read the entire description before bidding or asking questions. Here is your chance to own an extremely rare concept vehicle. This is the true "Holy Grail" of Dodge trucks. Both Chevrolet and Ford have made full size truck based SUV's, with the Suburban, Excursion, and Expedition all being very successful, but Dodge has never entered that market. In the mid 1990's Custom Conversions out of Cleburne, Texas saw the need for expansion to Dodge's model line, as Dodge was not building a true four door pickup or full size SUV at the time. Custom Conversions built prototype 2nd Generation Crew Cab and Adventurer "Suburbans type vehicles" and approached Dodge about selling them with factory warranties under dealer license. Dodge ended up saying yes to the Crew Cab pickups but no to the SUVs, probably because of issues retitling the pickups as passenger cars. Subsequently Custom Conversions made about 300 "Oklahoma Club Cab Specials" which have been recently called "Holy Grail" trucks by some of the diesel brothers type shows. Custom Conversions sold off their six prototype/early production "Adventurers", and this is one of them. Each of the Adventurers was optioned differently, probably for Dodge inspection and testing. 3 2wds were built and 3 4x4s were built, with each version being built with the V8, the V10, and the Cummins. This is the V10 2wd truck, therefore technically one of a kind. I found and saved this truck out of an Illinois junkyard, therefore it comes with a BILL OF SALE ONLY. You yourself can use that to apply for a surity bond in your name that will allow you to title the truck, that will be about $100 depending on your state, or you could use this truck to build another one with a parts truck. The V10 is not running and I do not know why. I have not tried much messing with it, since my plan was a diesel swap. The tires hold air and it rolls, steers, and brakes. Another Company Called Bayer out of Minnesota built what they called "Ramburbans" using the roof and doors from a Chevy Suburban. All told, they built about 30 of them. Bayer was strictly an aftermarket conversion company, and never had the factory connection Custom Conversions did. Bayer Ramburbans are vastly different vehicles, and do not look factory like the Adventurer does. The truck will need a full restoration and would be perfect with a Cummins 4x4 swap. The rear doors and door panels are in great shape. It needs rockers and back glass. The interior needs help. Delivery available for a fee. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. FULL payment is due within 72 hours of auction end. After the auction the truck must be picked up in Algonac, Michigan within 30 days. After 30 days I reserve the right to resell the item with no refunds being made. If you need more than 30 days, a storage fee may be arranged. SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. If you choose to have me deliver it to you, it must be paid in full plus delivery fees prior to shipment.
