One of 4714 made, of that only 2357 are painted in Dark Blue Metallic, this original 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS is in excellent condition with only 55,756 documented miles. This is the first year back for the SS after a 12 year absence from the 70's. The 1983 SS could only be ordered in White or Blue paint with the Blue and White SS interior. The SS was introduced in late 1983 with a of cost over $10,000 new, it came with the L69 5.0 HO motor that had 180 HP, that was more than a Porsche at that time. It came with sport suspension, 3 speed automatic transmission, sport handling pkg and is the last year for the SS carburetor. My Monte has new tires, shocks, tune up, AC, alternator, belts and Paint. Normal for 70 and 80s GM paint to fade as soon as the manufacturer warranty to expired. Thanks GM! The interior is all original including the motor and transmission. There is no way to correct misspelled words or phrases on this listing, so I'm still bored with the car and maybe I'll buy a Vette (69-73) instead of the SS truck.
