History and ConditionThis vehicle is used. This vehicle was purchased by me several years ago when it had around 47,000 miles. The vehicle was purchased from an insurance auto auction after a small front end collision. The vehicle was fully repaired by a licensed repair shop, inspected by New York State DMV, titled, registered, and I have been driving it since without a single issue. Volkswagen recently had a recall on diesel vehicles requiring a modification to the emissions system. As required by law, this vehicle went through the modification process. Shortly after, I began having problems with the vehicle to the point where it was in a no start condition. I brought the vehicle to a repair shop where it was diagnosed. The repairs that were made to the vehicle at that time include installation of a brand new engine ECU, high pressure fuel pump, and fuse box. The vehicle now runs and drives but it is not perfect. When the vehicle is parked and all codes are cleared with an automotive scanner, it runs beautifully. I can drive it back and forth at driveway speeds without an issue. As soon as I take it on the road and go about 100 feet and give it some gas, codes return and the vehicle is limited in power. The vehicle continues to drive, and will drive a good distance with limited power. The codes that show up are related to the fuel injectors. They were tested at the repair shop and I was told they are good. As I stated, the high pressure fuel pump was changed. This is a common issue in these vehicles and presents similarly to how my vehicle presented. However, I do not believe it was bad as there were no metal shavings present which are usually present when the pump goes bad. As a precaution, the entire fuel system was cleaned including all the fuel hoses and the main fuel pump in gas tank was checked as well. Wiring was also checked and there is no evidence of any wiring issues. At this point, I am unable to further diagnose the vehicle, and do not wish to put any more time or money into it. The vehicle does have an existing warranty from Volkswagen on the emissions system and emissions modification as shown in the final picture. As I stated before, the vehicle ran perfectly until shortly after the emissions modification. I am convinced that this issue is somehow related to the work they did. I am out of patience and do not have time to mess around with the dealer regarding this matter. I have already purchased a replacement vehicle and need to sell this vehicle quickly.Other than this one problem, the vehicle has cosmetic issues consistent with 92k miles of wear and 8-9 years of use. Parking lot dings are present here and there. There is a small dent on the front part of the hood as shown in the photos. the right rear quarter panel also has a scrape as shown in the photos. No unusual damage on the interior. This is a non smoker, pet free vehicle. Please see photos for more details as they are the most accurate representation of the vehicle. Maintenance The tires on this vehicle have approx 75% tread left. Front and rear brake rotors and pads were changed less than 5000 miles ago. Fuel filter is brand new with less than 50 miles on it. Oil has just been changed with full synthetic and has always been replaced with synthetic oil. This vehicle has been well maintained mechanically throughout the duration of my ownership. This vehicle is good to go if you can solve the aforementioned problem. TitleThis vehicle comes with a New York State Rebuilt Salvage Title. That means that this vehicle was in an accident and the insurance company paying out the claim deemed this vehicle salvage. I purchased this vehicle at a salvage auction and had it professionally repaired to factory specifications. After being repaired, this vehicle passed through New York State's rigorous salvage program and passed the salvage exam deeming the vehicle roadworthy. This is a serious exam that looks at every aspect of the vehicle. Upon passing this exam, the vehicle was issued a New York State Rebuilt Salvage Title. If you want to re-register this vehicle in NY state, you do not need to go through the salvage exam again, it is the same as registering a car with a clean title. Other states may vary so please familiarize yourself with your states procedure for registering a vehicle with a rebuilt salvage title. This vehicle is offered for worldwide bidding. If you are an international buyer please familiarize yourself with process for importing before bidding.
