Up for auction from a private owner is a beautiful 1966 Corvette 427, 390 hp, 4 speed car with factory air conditioning and air injection reactor, one of only 23 ever produced with this combination. This original numbers matching 427 Corvette was frame off restored approximately 25 years ago according to the prior owner. Since the restoration the engine and drivetrain have just over 54,000 miles according to the speedo. The paint is in good condition for a 25 year old paint job but it does have imperfections as it should for a fiberglass car with a early base coat clear coat paint. The color is the original Laguna blue with black interior. The original 3606 Holly A.I.R. carburetor was restored two years ago and the engine runs like a clock and is realitively "quiet" for a big block car with factory side pipes. The 390 hp 427 is one of the most driver friendly and easy to maintain big block available in 1966. The original starter has also been gone thru and rebuilt in recent years. The clutch works as it should and does not slip. The a/c works and had been updated to 134 Freon and blows cold but could use a recharge . I have owned this Corvette since 2004 and does not get driven very often and has only been driven about 1,000 miles since 2004. I did have the two year only brake master cylinder sent out and rebuilt last year and serviced the four wheel disc brakes. This car is no where near a show quality car but its a honest , original, clean driver Corvette with some rare options. Block pad stamp reads TO1141M which decodes as 427 390 Hp 4 speed with A.I.R, a partial vin 6111738 was stamped at the factory and matches the vin under the glove box . Engine casting 3869942 date code L305 Close ratio M21 4 speed transmission with partial vin stamped on side . Intake manifold 3866948GM2, Starter 110750 61A, Alternator 110705061A, carburetor 3606, Rear axle AT 9 26 66 3:08 positraction K19 air injection reactor, factory a/c, power 4 wheel disc brakes, rare factory original head rest, factory side exhaust, power antenna, T3 headlights, am/fm radio , factory tinted glass , 978 Laguna blue , original dash and door panels in very good condition, correct gauges, restored glove box looks like new inside and out, correct lock out shifter etc etc. This California 427 Corvette is clean, tight, and ready . It runs as it should, drives strait and true at 80 mph and does not have creeks, pops, or vibrations. Every thing functions as it should, lights, vents, electrical, a//c and mechanical. Its absolutely rust free . It has the original panels and bonding strips and the panel alignment is exceptional. The California A.I.R. system is intact and according to the NCRS this is one of only 23 big block cars with the K19 option. Several NCRS judges have looked it over and agree its the real deal but has not been judged. I have no documentation on the vehicle but the vehicle speaks for itself.
