1974 CR250M Elsinore LOW RESERVE! Up for auction is the 1974 Honda Elsinore CR250M, with Honda’s best handling with their best and fastest two stroke engine at a LOW reserve. This is not a fire sale, but well worth the money. This is the second year of this bike that everyone wanted! This is the bike that changed the off-road motorcycle industry forever. I purchased this bike many years ago out of California. When I purchased the bike, I changed oil, did a minor restore, added a new kick-starter gear. I took it to my local Honda shop and had a complete carb work done. Additionally, in June of 2016, my local Honda shop went through the front forks and replaced the old for seals and added all new front fork oil. This two-stoke motor is VERY strong with great compression. The bike has been well taken care of and even still wearing its original handle bars, clutch/brake handles and working kill switch. Everything is original on the bike with the exception on the foam in the air box and the seat foam which has been replaced. This bike still has its original aluminum tank and has not been replaced with some reproduction or painted silver metal tank as you see on a lot of these bikes for sale on here. The gas tanks alone on these bikes can go up to 1000+ dollars if you can find one in good condition! The front “CR” mud flap is still intact and both side covers as well as the fenders are in excellent condition along with the original DID rims. The exhaust pipe is in good condition. You can tell the “patina” of being ridden is visible and includes the original pickle silencer. The exhaust has no leaks. This great old bike is still sporting its original front number plate, aluminum rims and the tires are brand new with less than 2 hours on the dirt. There are no cracks in the frame or oil leaks in the motor case. This Elsinore's still has the original kick stand and chain tensioner still on the bike. The plastics are still in great shape! This bike has been stored in my dry climate garage since I have owned it. Elsinore’s are exceptionally hard to find in this condition. Unfortunately, It does have a couple of minor knee dents in the tank, but these are easily repaired. (Not creased) I have put quite a few hours of enjoyment in and on this bike, and tried to give as much information as possible. Not ridden hard, hell I'm 60! It is time for a new home that will keep the Elsie name alive. Now is your chance to own an original, most coveted vintage MX bike ever! This will be a very easy full restore for someone or a great vintage racer or just to just hit the dirt. Regardless or you reason for buying, the bike is the one you have been looking for! I make no claims about the amount of hours that are on this bike, I do not know and will not make any assumptions but the bike is all there. Obviously, there is no warrantee on this bike, which I am sure that anyone familiar with these original vintage bikes understands.
