Have owned for four years. Very dependable daily driver. really fun to drive. I am 57 and need to get an automatic due to issues I have, and tags are soon due, so thought it time to let someone else enjoy the car. This car is very original, the only things not are the 17 "rims, the motor and transmission mounts are solid polyurathane , changed about 3 years ago as stock mounts are weak, and the aem air intake , but I have the original intake that will go with the car. Both lower control arms with all new bushings, sway bar bushings all replaced, driver side front shock complete shock mount replaced. I don't like clunks! The interior is really clean and nice, I did replace the dash with a new one from the factory, not used. The previous owner didn't inform me of a couple things. At higher rpms downshifting from 4th gear to 3rd it will grind. My mechanic said this was due to rotted shifter bushings and transmission shift lever bushing which I promptly replaced all with polyuerathane bushings. He said it was fine to drive, transmission gears and everything else was good.. It took me few days to get used to not downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear, and have driven it with no other issues ever since. I located a synchro for it with a complete 3/4 hub assembly including blocker ring that I will include, and will leave in trunk. My mechanic moved out of state or would have had him replace. Then when I first got the car after driving it maybe 20 miles engine light went on, turned out to be a p0128 which could be thermostat, or engine coolant sensor, or coolant level. Replaced thermostat and coolant sensor, coolant level fine, still got code. Engine temp fine, no problems. Mechanic thought maybe the ecu needed reflashed. Anyway have smogged every year no issues, I just clear code with scanner I will also leave scanner in trunk for new owner. The valve cover gasket and spark plug gaskets were replaced recently. The car has had mobile one since I have owned it. This neon was in a minor fender bender with previous owner, who had the headlight and front fender replaced. Car has a few small parking lot door dings I pictured the largest one, the body is really strait, the paint has some checking on roof, top of door clearcoat starting to peel, some scuffs and scratches normal for a car of its age. Still gets compliments, looks , but again not a show car. Typical Kelly blue book for car with my miles and options is $8,611. I have priced mine at $2,000 less . The air conditioning is ice cold. Again I have had no dependability issues whatsoever with this car. Will make sure to be around for the shipper when he is scheduled to come, as a buyer should never have to worry about that. and I have a clear and clean title I can hide in car or mail to you.
