Vehicle Detail

First and best design of the full body, large displacement sport motorcycle. Latter designs were made for the sake of change mandated by marketing new products. Owned and maintained in perfect condition by a mature and meticulous enthusiast. Michelin Pilot Road2 tires in excellent condition Coolant, clutch and brake systems flushed last year. Mobile T4 synthetic oil (10W-40) and Honda filter done this year. Carburetor float needles and float O ring gaskets replaced year before last with Honda genuine parts. Only ethanol-free fuel used since then. Carburetors are in perfect tune for the Kerker exhaust system. Electrical system and gauges function correctly. Yuasa AGM battery (YTX14AHL-BS) installed this year. Always garaged on the center stand with front tire/suspension raised off ground and covered. Comfortable to ride slow or thrilling to ride fast. The deep exhaust note sounds like a road race machine. Can be picked-up in person in the Tampa area or shipped by carrier. I may consider trailering the bike to the Asheville NC area for a fee, but would rather not. The original owner was a BMW motorcycle technician. On May-24-18 at 12:50:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello friend, since I'm not a dealer I sure don't know about shipping costs to Maryland. Although, make sure it is shipped inside by an experienced carrier. I once used Federated Van Lines to transport my ST1300 from Portland Oregon with excellent results in cost and care of shipping. I have to cancel taking the 1000F to the Asheville area. I've decided take my 1965 CB77 on the trailer to NC instead (I've had this same 305 SuperHawk for 50 years!) Additionally, I cannot store the CBR waiting to be shipped out of NC as I already have three classic Hondas in my garage in the mountains. I'm selling the CBR because in last couple of years I use my 84' CB650SC more often while in FL for the winter - the CBR would likely see more use from a younger enthusiast. Buy with confidence as this is a gorgeous moto with very low miles. I have experience with classic Honda motos and know that the big Hurricane models if kept excellent condition will not depreciate from current pricing (again, they have to be nice, well cared-for examples) and will continue to gain in value. So get a good one, maintain it with original parts, enjoy it sparingly, and you will double your investment in about 5 years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On May-24-18 at 13:30:00 PDT, seller added the following information: I am the second owner having this bike for three years. The original owner was a BMW/Triumph/Moto Guzzi motorcycle dealership mechanic. Between him and me the moto has been maintained and used with original parts and premium fluids. No ethanol gasoline is used. I add marine-grade fuel stabilizer to a full tank when I store it for the summer/autumn months while away in the mountains. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On May-25-18 10:34:53 PDT seller added the following information: Question: What maintenance would this bike need upon arrival. What maintenance would it need within the next 200 miles. Thanks. Response: No maintenance is needed for the next 3 -5 years. Dependent on use and your own standards of fluid change intervals. I like to change hydraulic fluids and coolant every three years and oil/filter changes at 5k miles (using full synthetic). This is what has been done and when: * Coolant - Mobil Delvac Extended Life system flushed, coolant replaced March 2017 * Hydraulic Clutch and Brakes Fluids (Front & Rear systems) - ATE 706202 Original TYP 200 DOT 4 Brake Fluid, flushed and replaced March 2017 * Engine/Transmission Oil - Mobile T4, 10W-40 synthetic oil and Honda filter replaced April 2018. * Battery - Yuasa AGM battery (YTX14AHL-BS) installed Feb 2018. Note: this is a premium sealed battery with no evaporation therefore not requiring periodic replacement of distilled water. I keep a 2amp Battery Tender on the battery when not in use. Note: the pigtail hookup is on the battery it protrudes inconspicuously from the L vent under the seat. * Drive Chain - Maxima Chain Wax done March 2017 and chain free-play adjustment done April 2018 Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Question: while I'm thinking about it I noticed you said you used gas with no ethanol in it, what brand of gas has no ethanol. I use Sunoco's top grade of gas in my BMWs and Benz but all the gas that I've seen in Maryland all has at least 10% ethanol. Thanks again Answer: In the Tampa area both Wawa and Citgo have 89 octane ethanol-free gasolines. You may want to search for "ethanol free gas Maryland" in your web browser. There is an Apple iTunes application for your phone and likely one for Android: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pure-gas/id454559068?mt=8 There are 13340 gas stations listed here for the USA and Canada: https://www.pure-gas.org/ My reason for using it is that ethanol absorbs water and corrodes some rubber and metal in fuel systems of classic vehicles. I also add Sta-Bil Marine fuel stabilizer when I store the motorcycle. As is, the moto is stored with a full tank + stabilizer. Question: Good morning, you have taken so meticulous care of this bike I'm almost scared to get it and if I do I would not want to ride it much. I used to race with a CBR 600 but that was Over 25 years ago. I had a mechanic to work on my bike. I know how to do very little with bikes, so I have no clue how to take care of a bike like this hence the reason why I'm so hesitant in getting it. I'm also looking at a bike 15 years younger (CBR 954RR) with 14,000 miles that cost a few hundred dollars more. This moto most likely didn't have an Enthusiast like you to care for it. If it did he or she sure does not stated in the description what they've done to it. That bike is also closer to me which means I can get it myself or it would most likely only cost me $100 to ship it. Your bike will cost me anywhere between $600 to $700 to ship, not your problem I know, just stating facts. So I'm trying to weigh my options.................. Answer: Hello, it depends on one's perspective. I would rather have a fully functional, well-cared for, simple, and appealing vehicle which appreciates rather than a newer depreciating asset. There is not much technological improvement with motorcycles over the years - it is mostly a matter of paint and marketing to interest buyers. That is true for my 6 cars and 5 motorcycles... I get the right ones that appeal to my sense of athletics and engineering, take care of them, use them sparingly, and generally enjoy them for a long time. This philosophy has been served me well financially in the long run. This CBR is a blast to ride and sounds like no other with the large bore Kerker exhaust. A caveat: newer motos offer fuel injected induction and traction control, which is good and bad in the sense of electronic complexity and malfunction over time - good things to have while under manufacturer's warranty. SHIPPING: I shipped my Honda STS1300 across the country (3k miles) from Portland Oregon with a reputable carrier for $450. Check further for pricing before contracting with the shipper who quoted you $600- $700 for 1k miles… ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
