So, the dream car has to go. I just recently bought this car. Apparently, I had overestimated the room available in a C3. I’m a big guy. Very big. NFL Lineman kind of big. 6” 5 and 375lbs big. I had remembered driving comfortably in my dad’s 76, but had failed to equate the fact that I was 15 at the time. Now with that being said, I had no issues driving a C4, C5 or C6, all of which I have owned previously. All of which were snug but comfortable. But alas, I could not fit in this car. I asked the delivery driver to pull the car into the garage for me and went in the house and immediately began looking up ways to create enough room in the 71 for me to be able to drive it, all of which require more modifications than I’m willing to do. I was eventually able to wedge myself in there enough to drive around the block, but there is just no way I could ever be comfortable enough in this car to actually use it. So, the dream car has to go. Here are some specifics on the car: · Zero rust. This car spent its life garaged in a southern climate. · Matching # 350/270hp engine · Matching # 400 turbo trans · Low miles – currently at 39,560 ACTUAL miles. Confirmed on title to be actual miles. · Mostly original car – has been repainted once according to previous owner. Original color is 988 Steel Cities Grey and is now Mille Miglia Red. · Black interior is original · Original AM/FM radio in place but won’t turn on, will check fuses this week. Antenna is not in place but I do have it. Transporter removed the mast to load on to his truck and the cable fell down into the body when he disconnected it. · Power Steering · Power Brakes · Power Windows · I put a new battery in It a week ago · Headlights go up and down as they should · Running walk round video can be seen at https://youtu.be/nwsbPLl5fgc Body WAS in great shape until upon completion of my one and only drive around the block, I bumped into a planter box while backing it back into the garage. It was so tight in the car that I wasn’t able to turn to look back enough to see it. This is when I realized that this car wasn’t going to work. See picture of damage. Not extensive, but it’s there. I’ll be monitoring this and will be available to answer any questions you may have. I am truly saddened that I can’t drive this car so I’m going to move on to something with a more adjustable driving position. I have the car listed for sale locally so this auction may end at any time. I welcome overseas buyers, I’ve been through that process previously with positive results. I’ll make the car available for inspection prior to sale and will also be available to your transport company for loading.
