Here’a a rare one for you, a 2000 BMW 528i wagon. There is much to like about this car. Look at the condition of the body and the interior. Not showroom but very respectable. Loves the highway and melts the miles away. Last weekend I drove it from central Florida to Savannah without so much as a hiccup. Mileage is relatively low for its year, speedometer is showing approximately 104,500 miles. Nice size rear cargo and the back seats both fold down. Best of all the air is cold. Of course an eighteen year old complex automobile will have it share of problems. The 5 series in notorious for its share of electronic misbehavior. Here are the ones that immediately come to mind: There is a crack in the bottom of the front window. See photo. The left front plastic bumper piece is sagging. Warning lights usually on include the check engine, transmission, ABS, and airbags. The struts are weak on the rear door and, depending on the front-rear angle, may not hold the car open. I have the replacement struts, but they require a skilled mechanic with a special tool to put them in. I carry an exotic substitute called a broom handle that resolves the issue. The headliner is sagging in some spots, And for some strange reason, the factory radio has gone silent. This just happened so I haven’t fooled with it. Title in hand and just needs a caring owner. You’ll be surprised how many people stop and want to know more about the car, not realizing the BMW did make station wagons. You tell me what it is worth; there is no reserve.
