Vehicle Detail

1976 Suzuki RM 250 This is a 1976 Suzuki RM 250 A model in exceptional condition that was restored over ten years ago in 2007. I raced this bike in the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix in 2006 in the vintage class and got first place. 2006 was the last year that the motorcycles raced through the downtown streets of Lake Elsinore. I started restoring the bike after the race and it has not been started, rode or raced since. If you know the RM history, 1976 is the first year for the Suzuki RM 250's and are for the purist collectors. It looks almost brand new. The bike has a once used Bridgestone Motocross M-59 tire in the front. The front tire is 80/100-21 and the rear is a 110/100-18 inch Bridgestone Motocross - M402 tire. I believe that these RM's originally came with Bridgestone tires, and as mentioned, the only time that these tires were used were in the race noted above. The seat cover is brand new and reupholstered with brand new foam. The hand grips are O'Neal's and used one time. The front black rubber fork boots and throttle cable are new and the gas cap and the Free Flo gas cap tube are original. The engine was disassembled, cases split, new gaskets, seals, and a new Wiseco top end. It has the original reed valve and a brand new UNI air filter. The complete engine was painted with high temperature paint. The original exhaust was sandblasted and painted with high temperature paint. The plastic side covers and gas tank were painted. The front and rear fenders are brand new. The kill button, foot pegs, kick starter, and clutch cable are original. It also has a brand new aftermarket FMF spark arrestor.Regarding some of the upgrades - the front forks were refurbished by Tech Care suspension with the fork tubes and caps being restored and then powder coated. It has brand new Progressive rear shocks. It has brand new Takasago Excel alloy rims in the front and back with brand new 8 gauge spokes, then laced and trued. The front and rear hubs were powder coated as well as the swing arm and rear brake stabilizer bar. Since the bike is not original with the new rims and rear shocks, I decided to powder coat the handlebars, levers and perches as well as the rear sprocket in a gold color. I have the original owners maintenance manual and most of the receipts - see picture. These early RM's are gaining popularity; especially this first year bike and several collectors are buying, racing as well as restoring them. The exhaust has a small dent on the exhaust pipe under the Suzuki decal - see picture and the kickstand spring does not work properly. There has been no gas put in the bike since restoration. If purchased, I will put gas it and get it running after I receive the deposit or leave it empty, whichever, you prefer. Please do not ask me what the reserve price is because I will not tell you and it is not fair to other potential buyers. But I will tell you, that it is very reasonably priced for a partially restored motorcycle in exceptional condition. I have over $4000 into this bike and restoration - not including my time and my reserve is below that amount. These rare first year RM's are going for well over $4,000 and they are hardly ever listed for sale on EBay.The motorcycle will be sold as-is, with no warranties implied and it comes with a valid California title that is in my name and has not been signed and/or dated. Most vintage dirt bikes do not even come with titles – only bill of sales. Also some people will say they have the title, but it is already signed and dated and California DMV will charge you late fees from the date that it is on the title because you only have 30 days to transfer vehicles into your name in California, after purchase. The bike is currently on non operational status. It has VIN number RM25014335 and the engine number is RM25013910 on the bike and on the title. Please check my EBay feedback history. I have over 250 positive feedback's and it is at 100% satisfaction for a reason and ninety five percent of my EBay sales are related to motorcycles, motorcycle parts or mini bikes. I have been riding, racing, restoring and collecting motorcycles for over 45 years. See my EBay profile picture of me on a 1975 Honda 125 Elsinore at a Lake Elsinore Grand Prix race.I also have several transport contacts and can get this Suzuki transported almost anywhere in the United States for much less than most motorcycle transporters and USHIP. I also have transported motorcycles to Australia and Europe and I have no issues selling to anyone out of the country. I know of several international transporters and I will charge only $150 to get the bike to the transporter/logistics and fifty cents a mile both ways – you have to pay the transporter to get it over the ocean, but I will assist with the logistics and finding a shipper. I will also deliver this bike for fifty cents a mile, both ways, anywhere within reason in the Southern California area and possibly further. As you can tell from the pictures, this is a great bike to have. This bike is ready to race or collect. Please see pictures of Roger Decoster who won on Suzuki MX bikes from 1971 to 1979 and and Ricky Carmichael who won his last two years 2005 and 2006 racing a Suzuki... next to this bike at a recent AMA Legends and Heroes event. Please check out my other motorcycle listings that I am currently selling on Ebay – an extremely custom 1976 Honda 750 F model with a 900cc motor, a custom 1974 Honda CT 70 with a 108cc motor, and a restored 1977 Yamaha YZ 250. I also currently have a variety of motorcycle parts, helmets etc. priced well below most other similar parts on EBay.If you are new to eBay, then you may not be aware that your bid means you are buying what you are bidding on if you are the highest bidder over the reserve price. If you have less than ten feedbacks you must contact me to let me know that you are serious about completing the sale or I will cancel your bid. Please bid only if you really want this motorcycle. Please don’t be a flake.I am not desperate to sell, I am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I am a motorcycle enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! Please ask any questions you may have, because you will be answered quickly and honestly. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. If you would like to see the motorcycle in person before auction close please just send me a question and I will arrange a date and time.I reserve the right to end this auction at any time in order to sell this bike locally as well or this bike will go to the highest bidder over my reserve price here on Ebay!
