Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is our very clean 1971 Chevrolet Pickup, C20 4 x 4 with a 350 and 4 speed, factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, spray on bed liner. The green was recently repainted and looks nice. It starts and runs very well and has always been dependable. It gets attention everywhere we take it. Engine/Mechanical: Just completed tune up, oil/filter, plugs, points, condenser, rotor, starts and runs very well. Current engine has approximately 17,500 miles on it. The cooling system is excellent, it is impossible to make this truck overheat, will pull heavy loads or sit and idle all day. Truck has an auxiliary electric fuel pump in case the mechanical pump ever fails, truck will still continue on. Very heavy duty hitch for pulling large loads. Have binder with all specs on the engine, Dart 2 heads, line bored, balanced and decked, Comps cam with Rhoads v max lifters, double roller timing chain, fluid damper, very good carburetor with manual choke (625CFM), Hedman headers. Includes trailer brake controller, tachometer, volt meter and CB. Tires have a lot of tread but 3 are older, one was replaced when a friend ran over metal and cut the tire. Size of tires/wheels are LT 265/70/R17. When we purchased the wheels we did not check the back set and after installing did not like the look, so we installed spacers on the back wheels, never any issues, even when hauling heavy loads. History: We have owned this truck since around 1980 and are the second owner. Only reason for selling is that we acquired another old truck that had been owned by a very dear friend, and when he passed, his wife wanted us to have his old truck. The Chevrolet started its life as a C10 and at some point in its early life was changed over to a C20, ¾ ton, it has stout suspension and handles loads well, in the 80’s we hauled an 8 foot camper and 4 horse trailer, fully loaded with no problems. We purchased a motorhome around 1990 and this truck was retired to be our “ranch” truck, hauling hay, gravel, lumber, occasionally a horse trailer or car trailer. Since about 2003 (when the engine was replaced and some restoration was done), it has been used to haul hay once a year, occasional gravel, building supplies, occasionally hauling our show cars on a car trailer. It sits under covered storage all of the time, and we have not left it out in the weather. Truck has a very nice stance and gets lots of attention. However, it is NOT perfect and that is reflected in our price. Some of the trim has scratches and dings (some new). Most everything works, however, the heater controls are a bit sticky, but do work (both AC and heat), and the windshield washer does not work, also the after market radio/CD player skips. Seat was rebuilt in 2003, and many items were replaced at that time. Recently repainted (just the green). We are taking it to a show on Friday night, even though we have show cars, we are still proud to show this truck, again it does get a lot of attention, so many people have fond memories of this era of truck. NOTE, we have available if our buyer has interest the original steering wheel (needs restoration but is solid), original engine (without heads) that was rebuilt in the early 80’s bored .040, line bored, decked, Crower 280 cam, Rhoads lifters. It was removed because it was starting to use oil, would need freshening, honed, rings bearings. We have a set of 8 lug steel wheels with old tires if anyone should want them and a pair of 10”wide 15” white steel wheels with old tires. Have several instrument panels that we purchased at swap meets in case any instruments fail and the original 4 bbl air cleaner, and a few other items we have picked up at swap meets thru the years. We encourage buyers to come drive and/or have inspected. Truck is also for sale locally. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer; however, we will help to facilitate. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE On May-13-18 at 11:20:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Engine and clutch have 17,500 miles, chassis, transmission and rear end have 219,000. Note correction on engine, has a Crane camshaft and Erson roller rockers, Edelbrock C4B torquer manifold, and Holley cast aluminum valve covers. We are near Loomis, California, approximately 35 minutes from Sacramento, 4 miles from Interstate 80 by Folsom Lake.
