Vehicle Detail

The BMW 650cs (city/street) was quite a departure for the manufacturer when introduced twenty years ago. Imagine what the purists through off a BMW bike with a Rotax engine, designed by an American, and having belt (rather than shaft) drive. Some loved it, most hated it and the controversy continues to this day. But spend some time with Google and discover that the bike has developed a cult following which keeps growing as the bikes grow scarcer. My first BMW was a R60/5 and that’s what I was looking for when I came across this. Bought it from an uber-collector. I’m comfortable in calling him that since he has a spotless thirty-year old cafe racer in his dining room. Try talking your spouse into that. Now here’s the part some of you will recognize. Brought my new jewel back home and took it out exactly twice last summer and fall. Plans would change, rainstorms would threaten, and so the bike has mostly sat since. You know what they say about the road to he.. I just wiped her down and added fresh gas and she started right up. I’m sure she’s going to need some attention from a caring owner and that’s where you come in. Title in hand and just needs a going over from sitting most of last year. Also comes with - The center tank bag - The trunk case and mounting pieces - The taller windshield. Used but in good condition. There is one unresolved issue regarding the title. The good news is that it is a current Florida title in my name. The bad news is somehow the mileage is listed as 12,700. On the bike it shows 8,790. Input error? speedometer replacement? Your guess? All you have to do is ride the bike and the problem will correct itself. Or have it switched to “true mileage unknown.” I don’t like surprises when I buy a bike so it is what it is. Be sure you're comfortable with the situation before you bid. You tell me what it is worth; there is no reserve. Just be the high bidder,,, REMEMBER: By bidding, you are confirming that you agree to the terms and conditions below. Guaranteed authentic, description is accurate, but sold as is--this is an auction, all sales final. The only exception is if I have not described the item accurately.
