It is VERY RARE as only 12,159 Ranchero GT Pickups were built in 1979, the LAST and BEST year of the 7th generation Ranchero !! We recently purchased this Ranchero from the previous older Montana owner and as you can tell in the pictures and video it was their pride and joy !! It still retains it's correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL Ford dash mounted VIN tag and it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL driver's door jamb mounted data sticker, both of which are shown in several pictures. I drove this pickup for the last several weeks as my daily driver and I assure you it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is a sweet driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. If you can make it to Boise please come take a look at and drive this BEAUTY for yourself, you won't be disappointed. This is a QUALITY "COWBOY CADILLAC" THAT IS READY TO DRIVE, SHOW AND ENJOY !! At the heart of this Ranchero is what appears to be the VERY STRONG - FACTORY ORIGINAL - 351 CID V8 motor that is running VERY well. The motor also sports the ORIGINAL intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, Edelbrock Chrome valve covers, Motorcraft carburetor with electric choke and a Chrome air cleaner housing, etc. Sounds GREAT too with the THROATY true dual side exit exhaust system with dual chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - REBUILT - C6 Three speed automatic transmission that also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL - Red, White and Tan Cloth and Vinyl interior is in NICE condition including a NICE Tan Cloth and Vinyl "Bucket Bench" seat with folding center armrest and dual headrests, VERY NICE NEW Dark Red carpets, Good ORIGINAL White Vinyl door panels that are showing some wear, Good ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, NICE ORIGINAL Ranchero steering wheel, Good ORIGINAL White Vinyl headliner, NICE ORIGINAL White Vinyl sun visors and a NICE ORIGINAL Red Vinyl dash pad with 2 large cracks near the center. All of the ORIGINAL black rubber weatherstripping is still soft, supple and in good condition for being original. The BEAUTIFUL - Code "97R" - Bright Red and Alpine White exterior finish is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL !! showing several small chips and imperfections that have been touched up but still looks STUNNING as you can clearly see in the VIDEO & 100+ ADDITIONAL PICTURES !! This Ranchero comes nicely equipped including factory power steering, factory power brakes with discs up front, factory power wipers, working factory cruise control, factory seat belts, factory tilt steering column, original clock which is no longer working, good heater and defroster, awesome Alpine AM / FM / Cassette player stereo radio, original day / night rear view mirror, original dual remote side view exterior mirrors, factory gauge clusters with tachometer and 85 MPH speedometer, factory trip odometer and factory back up lights. This Ranchero GT has GREAT looks and AWESOME 351 V8 power as well... what's not to like ?! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. Check out the AWESOME - Vision Legend "Type 141" Gunmetal wheels wrapped in BRAND NEW white lettered steel belted radial tires, they look OUTSTANDING on this Ranchero and really give it that CLEAN "Custom" - look !! (The front tires are 225/70R15 and the rears are 275/60R15.) All of the ORIGINAL Chrome and Electroplated Aluminum exterior body trim and moldings are in NICE condition including a NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front bumper with some small scratches, Good ORIGINAL Chrome rear bumper with some scratches, dings and plating imperfections, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Badging and a NICE ORIGINAL Black and Chrome front grill and Chrome headlight surrounds. The CLEAN - STRAIGHT bed is also in great condition and sports a fold-down rear tailgate. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL !! I looked underneath and also included photos below, again this is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Montana - Idaho High Mountain Desert - western truck and it shows !!
