Vehicle Detail
1999 Hummer H1 Wagon Night Storm Edition (1 of 27 made). New everything ~1,000mi ago. First $45,000.00 takes it. Have room in the Buy It Now price for those who need 10% off. No trades accepted. Please read full description for history, condition, etc. You will be very hard pressed to find a comparable H1 for $45k. Mechanically this H1 has ~1000 miles on the entire drivetrain. That includes bushings, ball joints, etc. All NEW OEM AM General parts or Predator parts. Nothing on this H1 is "rebuilt", "remanufactured" or otherwise, only 100% new was used/installed. On Mar-25-18 at 02:38:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Have many more photos, can only post 24 with add. Also service records to validate all new items. Message if you want them. It's all ready to go for someone's summer fun! It's a real head turner and draws a crowd at every gas station to every parking spot. Instant celebrity status & a ton of fun to drive around! On Apr-5-18 at 09:32:17 PDT, seller added the following information: The 6.5L engine was bought through the old hummer dealer, Bachelor Cadillac here in San Antonio, the part, crate long block, came from AM General - dealer would not install anything but factory parts from factory part numbers from their part indexes. Engine was new, factory AM General, not a rebuild, or aftermarket from Canada, etc. I have the paperwork to support this as well does the dealership. Engine was installed (date on ticket) 8/14/2014 @ 136,468 miles. Current mileage is 137,570. Part number on ticket says: 5744918 Long.Block, 6.5L Turbo $10,771.32 I did a search on the web using that PN and it pops up several places as an AM General LB 6.5L Turbo engine. PN 5744918 is a genuine OEM AM General PN and for the 6.5L Turbo. 195hp, 430tq. Engine has >1100 miles on it. The 6.5L used in the GM trucks is a different PN (12562492-1) This was a father/son project that was started and the expensive stuff is complete - see extremely long list of new items below. Purchased in 5/2014 with 136,1xx miles. Then the work began. Vehicle is located in San Antonio, TX. After putting on just over 600 miles a cam bearing spun - so it went to the Hummer dealer in SAT for a new AM General engine, not a rebuild, not a used non-AM General (like a GM 6.5L from a Chevy truck, etc. which is what I bought it with and the motor lasted 35k miles - There is a different spec between the GM and AM General engines, this is very important and expensive, $21k), but an authentic AM General factory engine. From there every accessory attached to the engine was replaced along with every bolt-on Predator upgrade for cooling, longevity, etc. that could be purchased, was purchased and installed. The transfer case was throwing a shift code so we sent it to a local transmission shop, end result was a brand new transfer case being installed, not a rebuild but factory new. Everything on this H1 that relates to the drivetrain and running gear is new. The differentials, ring, pinion, axels were all inspected during the ARB front and rear locker install. The 10" factory brakes (which are the same GM uses on 1/2 ton trucks) were replaced for Predators 12", 6-Piston mono-block brakes ($9k). The interior is original 1999 and was the next project to tackle. Has the 2002 style electric mirrors (factory parts). Look around about the H1s and you'll find that in 1999 ABS and traction control were the major upgrade. They stayed the same through 2004 (interior update in 2003). Aside from the Alpha 1999-2004 are all the same. Everything is rock solid, no rust, cracks, etc. If you're looking for basically a brand new (mechanically) H1, this is your Wagon! Please look at the parts list - Full documentation to back it up. There is over an $80k investment in parts/labor (excluding the original purchase price). Aside from Predator's Intercooler kit, there is nothing left to buy/upgrade on this H1. In the 100+ degree SAT summer heat, it runs right at 200 with both front and rear ACs blasting, at 75mph. It gets around 15-17mpg depending on how you drive it. It accelerates very well and will stop even better, triggering the ABS with ease. It's shorter than my H2 so parking garages are not usually an issue other than width. Very maneuverable and fun to drive. You will giggle like a child when you drive it around town. Take advantage of our loss of interest (no time, son off at college out of state). Everything on this H1 is new and is documented. Sure you can take a chance on a ~40-65k mile "all original" H1 and, have a $21k engine go 600 miles after you buy it, that's exactly what happened to me (engine only had 35k miles). This is a chance to buy one as close to mechanically new as you can. Watch out for some of the conversions (DuraMax, Cummins, etc.). The majority are done with used engines/trans to reduce costs. When I priced a conversion when the engine failed, I was quoted a "low mileage engine" as one being between above 50k miles and below 75k miles, it was a $12-15k savings. I firmly believe that if you grab an H1 in the condition of this one, and follow the maintenance schedule, it should last for another 20 years easy. Keep in mind, these were designed to be driven and maintained by 18 year olds in less than garage-like conditions. They are easily maintained with very few tools. Ready for summer fun! On Mar-21-18 at 02:48:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Reply to a question: Yes - it is a 6.5L Turbo - new from AM General - I have the paperwork from the dealership and they have the records electronically as well. I saw the report before I purchased it and had a pre-purchase inspection performed. They found no signs of an accident. The brush guard is straight and most importantly, lines up perfectly, as does the winch mount, etc. The hood is perfect, etc. This would really be shown on the front frame rails and/or the radiator housing (which is quite large) - there would be some form of alignment issues, frame deformation, etc. (if it was straightened out, etc.). From the report stating "minor_issue" I believe this is accurate - it was minor. It could have been rear-ended by another car. I had someone rear end my trailer hitch and punch a hole through the plastic front of the Ford Probe - never touched my truck, yet showed as a accident on the CarFax, they just report if there was a police or insurance report/claim. There is a state record but no ins/repair record, which there would be if it was repaired. The mechanics have been over & over the H1 looking for issues, etc. With the engine swap it spent several months at the dealership then several months at an independent mechanic (dealership would not install non OEM parts, Predator brake kit, radiator, etc.) and neither can find signs of an accident. Everything lines up, etc. Being around the H1 for 4 years I can honestly say that that it's going to take one heck of an impact to show any kind of damage. Meaning it would have to come from the side or a rollover. Even a front impact would at best crack the hood. The entire front was disassembled with the engine swap and again when the radiator, fans, breaks, etc. were installed. The bumpers are 1/4" thick steel formed into a "U" channel, you can run over a tree without damage. The body is equally durable. Previous owner was equally meticulous and it shows from the binder of maintenance records.
