Up for auction is a 2013 Ford Taurus "Police Interceptor" AWD sedan. This vehicle was purchased new by the Village of Clarendon Hills and used its entire service life as a fully marked police car. This vehicle has approximately 93,582 miles on the odometer, approximately 14,260 engine hours and 9,974 idle hours. The engine runs well and operates as it should. Once the car is up to operating temperature it has trouble shifting and slips out of gear. The car was taken to a Ford dealer for inspection. Ford told us that the torque converter is faulty and also recommended replacing the transmission. The paint is factory black and in overall decent condition for a used squad car. There is visible evidence in some areas of where the police decals have been removed as well as equipment mounting holes filled in on the trunk and roof. There is slight corrosion with paint chipping away around the trunk lock. The front cloth bucket seats are in good shape but do have the usual wear and tear as seen in the photos. The driver seat is power and is working. The back of the driver seat has some tears near the top from rubbing against the cage. The rear vinyl seat is in like new condition and never used due to being swapped out with a plastic insert while in service. The radio works but the steering wheel radio controls don't. The front tires are on the lower end of tread life.The rear tires have more tread than the front. Locking gas cap. Overall, with the exception of the previously mentioned torque converter/transmission issue, the vehicle is in good condition and functions as it should. Maintenance records available if desired.
