Hello and thanks for viewing our 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4x4 with the 4.0 Inline 6 clynder engine. We purchased this vehicle from a local municipality where it was used very lightly as a traffic safety unit. It's a true 1owner and has been stored indoors year round since day one in 1995 so the Jeep is basically rust free. Since it was municipality owned that means it was fleet maintained and all fluids and scheduled maintenances were preformed on time. No expense was spared on the upkeep of this rig. The municipality basically had an open checkbook and when issues arose on their vehicles, they were taken care of right away instead of being left to linger and cause more problems. The engine fires right over with a quick half turn of the key and the engine idles smooth and sound free. The transmission shifts 100% right on the mark through all its gears with zero banging or slipping. The truck does not get hot even after running parked for over an hour. There are no leaks of any sort and the engine doesn't burn any oil. All the interior gadgets work 100% as they should and are 100% stock , even the radio wich is very rare. There is no cracked glass. The paint shines like new there is absolutely zero rust or damage on the body. Since it was stored indoors , the real beauty lies underneath where there is nothing not even any surface rust on the frame rails. This truck is 99.9 rust free. Other then some surface rust on the driveshaft there is not one spot that needs any attention we could find anywhere underneath even after putting it on our lift and doing a thorough inspection. Mechanically this truck is also a real winner, these 4.0s have been documented to go over 1 million miles and with the 91k miles this truck is barely broken in. Car and driver magazine rated the 4.0 inline 6 as one of the TOP 3 engines of all time "that refuse to die" Our mechanic couldnt find one other issue with this baby other then an allignment wich has already been taken care of. The original factory undercoating is still intact, plain and simple, there is nothing to hide here! All four tires have plenty of tread life left and are not dry rotted. They look almost new to me. The brakes work great and don't grind or squeak. Also this truck was never used to plow snow so the front end is still in great shape. The rear suspension sits just as high as day 1 .This truck was very lightly used all the way around. The engine bay is really clean and i do not powerwash any of my vehicles engines , I think it does more harm then it's worth , so the clean engine you see is exactly how I got it. All fluids have been checked and or changed. Also another great thing about this truck is that it's 100% stock, except for the safari rack. it's ready for you to customize to your own likings or enjoy it the way it is. All original sheet metal except the rear bumper we replaced because of a minor dent and the parts are very cheap for these trucks so we wanted to keep it beautiful and put the new bumper on. Zero accidents, perfect auto check report. To some it all up this truck is pretty much mechanically and cosmetically perfect. These trucks are getting harder and harder to find with each day that passes. Throw in the low mileage and zero rust and we're talking almost impossible. The mileage is documented from the Township and the truck has a clean andClear title with no accidents. There are no odors in the truck becuase of a municipal ordinances and policies that banned smoking and pets from the vehicles. This truly is an amazing rig. It flies straight down the road and it doesn't drift when you let go of the wheel. This is a true 1 owner truck and I can't say it enough you can't find a better previous owner then a Township or municipality. Mileages are logged leaving and returning, any issues are promptly And Also the person that drove the rig didn't have to pay for fuel so it was never run low and always had a full tank. Even though this is one of the cleanest and nicest trucks I've had in awhile, it is still 22 years old and does have a tiny amount of use and wear, don't expect a brand new truck and we won't have any problems.We have a copy of the auto check report , it's 100% cleanAnd clear and Is available upon request.. I said it before and I'll say it again, this truck is absolutely amazing and it's next owner will definitely not be disappointed. If your going to buy it now or make an offer, please have the funds pre secured. I have been buying and selling for over 10 years on eBay and have been able to maintain 100% feedback the whole time. I do my best to honestly describe each vehicle. I have found that a few simple rules and policies can save my self a lot of grief from wasting time with fake buyers who bid for entertainment purposes only. The truck is available to be seen pretty much 7 days a week upon appointment and for out of state buyers I can take as many additional pictures as requested and I can also provide a video of the vehicle starting and running. I do not have any policies that any other legitimate auction site has. Again if you buy it now or I decide to take an offer please be prepared to leave the deposit and follow thru with the deal. No low balling please do a little research and a one owner clean Older XJ in this shape with low miles is worth this kind of money , it's a life long investment and in my opinion will last longer then a brand new truck.
