Replica of the Famous 1966 L79 Nova "GRUMPY'S TOY" commissioned by the late Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins himself. The original "Grumpy's Toy" was destroyed in a towing accident coming home from the Nationals in the late 60's. The build of this replica was overseen by Grumpy Jenkins himself with input and final approval coming from him, it is also said that some parts from the original car were used in the build of this car and came from Grumpy himself. The car is also autographed in 2 spots on the trunk by Grumpy and also autographed by Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst". It also has a diecast made of it along with a model car kit by AMT. Starting with an absolutely rust free mint body survivor with only 30,000 original miles its was transformed into what you see today. The interior is mostly original and in excellent show quality condition. The underside of the car still sports its original red oxide primer and is one of the cleanest undersides of an original Nova you will probably ever see! even the trunk appears to retain the original paint and shows almost as good as new.. all the trim, chrome and glass are also very nice. The paint has been buffed to a great shine and shows extremely well and all decals are done in vinyl and could be removed if desired. Body gaps are excellent and everything lines up great and the car is extremely straight the doors still have the nice crisp sound when you shut them. The car has working lights and full exhaust and can be street driven if desired. Needless to say you'd be hard pressed to find a more solid car iconic Nova anywhere. It has a fresh race prepped 327 (original engine that was installed during the build with Grumpy), Muncie crash box 4 speed transmission, 12 bolt Posi-Traction rear end with I believe 4.56 gears. Traction bars, drag shocks, cable driven tachometer, Hurst shifter, M&H Cheater tires in rear with vintage pie crust up front. All the vintage stuff the original car would have had back in the day. This car is as close as you can get to the real thing and has Grumpy's blessing with his name attached to it. It would be a great car for a museum, collector or someone who want to go Nostalgic drag racing or someone wanting to stand apart from the crowd at the weekend cruise nights.
