Vehicle Detail
This is an increasingly rare find bought new in Tucson, Arizona and never left the area. The original owner died three years ago and his brother has kept the truck on his property garaged until recently putting the truck up for sale. I am the second owner. The original owner worked as a postal worker three miles from his home which is why the miles are so low. I am fully aware that the odometer on these trucks have only 5 digits but the title is Box A on the Arizona title which means original miles and the overall condition of the truck supports that the miles are original at 91k versus having turned over. He retired years ago and the brother told me that the truck probably hadn't been driven over 40 MPH in the last 10 years. It was always well kept as they had a relative who worked at the local Napa Auto Parts store and it always got what it needed. It is all original down to the radio which still works good. No modifications other that the speakers in the door panels. It has the 360 engine and 727 automatic transmission. It has power steering, power brakes and is equipped with AC. The AC blows cool but not ice cold and probably needs a charge from sitting so long. Everything on the truck works except the left hand turn signal indicator light in the dash has a burned out bulb so the little green arrow doesn't light up in the dash. This hasn't bothered me enough to fix it yet. The interior is in great original condition. The floor mat looks like new and was covered by orange shag carpet since new and I removed it to find the pristine floor mat. In the pictures there is some dirt on the driver's side of the mat that makes it look like a hole or some wear but it shows no significant wear nor does the steering wheel. Dash is crack free and it comes with a matching cover. The exterior turn signal lights and all other lights work as they should. The truck is wearing it's original paint and the paint shows some light patina on the hood and the top of the cab which is consistent with an Arizona vehicle where the sun does take a toll on the paint. The body is very straight as you can see in the pictures with just minor dings here and there and multiple minor scratches in the paint consistent with it's age. All the trim is in great shape as are the original poverty hubcaps. The truck had a bed liner in it from new and I removed it a few weeks ago mainly out of curiosity to see how the bed looked. It has some wear spots in the bed where the paint was worn down by the vibration of the bed liner and there is some surface rust in a few places that would rub off with rubbing compound, but no serious rust in the bed and no rust anywhere on the truck. I have sold many vehicles over the years on eBay and this truck has the cleanest undercarriage of any I've seen or sold. It is super clean underneath the truck to the point of almost looking new. The tires have plenty of tread but I think they are older tires. The brother couldn't remember when they were put on the truck. There is light weather cracking on the side walls but nothing serious. Mechanically the truck needs nothing. It runs and drives great. It had a brand new radiator in it when I bought the truck which was purchased from Napa but about two weeks after I bought the truck a slow leak developed in the radiator so I took it back to Napa but they would not warranty the radiator because the truck changed owners. I took it to a shop I had used before and they fixed the leak so it is good to go. Hoses are newer and belts are in great shape. Owner's manual and all the spare tire and jack equipment is in place and in great shape. The truck is just a time capsule and is a pleasure to drive, getting compliments all the time. Here are the negative things about the truck: it does mark your driveway with an oil leak from the oil pan. Not terrible but it does leak some. The drivers side of the seat has a slight tear in the original material and some light stains in the seat. The original slider rear window does kind of rattle a little with the vibration of the truck due to the weatherstripping getting old and drying out. I have little cardboard pieces I wedge in between the window frames that keep it quiet. The front bumper is bent. There is some adhesive on the dash where the original owner had tried to glue down velcro pieces to hold the dash cover (which does come with the truck) in place. This should come off easy with adhesive remover. Those are the only negative things I can think of about the truck. Any Dodge enthusiast would be proud to own this old truck. It is a 2500 so would be great for towing. I bought the truck for a remodel project which I have completed and I will now pass the truck on to a lucky new owner who hopefully will care for it as it deserves. Not a lot of these old trucks remain in this condition. I may be selling locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell locally. I require a $500 deposit via Paypal due within 24 hours of the end of the auction with balance due within 7 days. I have sold many vehicles on eBay over the years and my feedback speaks for itself so bid with confidence. I'll be happy to answer any questions and can store the truck for a reasonable time frame for the new owner to make arrangements to either have it shipped or fly in and drive it home. Yes I would drive it anywhere. It is super reliable and a dependable daily driver.
