Up for sale with NO RESERVE is one of 531 BMW 1600's produced for the US in 1971, which was the last year for the 1600 (according to the Taylor reference book) The car has no motor/transmission. The car rolls, steers and brakes easily. 2 tires loose air after a few weeks of sitting. Includes two ignition keys, one of which is an original folding bmw key. The car was originally navada (tan), and it shows through on some exterior surfaces, such as around the edge of the windshield and cowl area where the seals have shrunk. The car has an older re-spray to green, that looks ok, but not flawless, and likely could be polished back to life. The cars interior seems to be fairly well sealed from the elements still, after washing the car I didn't notice any water creeping inside. The car has been covered with a waterproof cover during my ownership, it will be included with the sale. I believe the car is worth saving instead of parting. With being said, there is some rust on the frame rail, drivers floor and several small spots around the exterior, but there are alot of good hard to find parts on the car that could be used if the buyer decided to part it out. It has all of the chrome trim; most in great shape, decent 1600 seats, door panels with no speaker holes, original nose panel with no major rust, newer bilstein shocks all around, hard to find 1600 grills, 4 stock bmw chrome hub caps, etc. If you have any specific questions please ask before winning the auction.
